A Look at galaxy S26 FE gets more underwhelming with every passing leak

Two new Samsung Galaxy S26 FE leaks have convinced us that you probably shouldn’t be holding out to buy one.

Just last month, our Mobile Editor, Anyron, wrote an opinion piece arguing that the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE didn’t need to exist. This was based on leaks concerning the phone’s likely minimal upgrades.

Now a fresh pair of leaks has added fuel to such a pessimistic outlook.

First charge

The first new rumour comes from 91Mobiles, which notes that the Galaxy S26 FE is going to support 45W wired charging.

It seems the phone has appeared on UL Demko certification, revealing its charging capabilities in the process.

This isn’t calamitous news by any means – 45W was as fast as Samsung phone charging got until relatively recently, when the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra bumped things up to 60W.

But the point is, it’s another specification that adds nothing to the brilliant Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, which was already at 45W.

Overcharge

Indeed, the only charge increase here could be the one that Samsung demands of its customers.

French website Dealabs claims to have learned Samsung’s European pricing for the Galaxy S26 FE – and it’s not looking good.

Apparently, the entry 128GB model will cost €799, while the 256GB step-up will cost €899, and the range-topping 512GB will set European customers back €1,099.

As the report notes, this would represent a significant increase over the price of the Galaxy S25 FE, which cost €749 / €809 / €929 when it launched less than a year ago.

That’s a €50 increase for 128GB, €90 for 256GB, and a scarcely believable €170 for 512GB. Ouch.

If the UK and US pricing follows suit, we could be looking at starting prices of £699/$699.99. It’s still cheap enough for us to consider it a mid-range phone, but only just.

Time to go vintage shopping

As we learned previously, the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE probably won’t be significantly slower than its predecessor. Its Exynos 2400 chip isn’t going to be obliterated by the Galaxy S26 FE’s Exynos 2500, that’s for sure.

Elsewhere, the specs are likely to be very similar, and the display of the Galaxy S26 FE could even be a little worse.

It all reaffirms our view that 2026 is the year to go vintage shopping. Buying last year’s model has never been more appealing, thanks to a combination of incremental upgrades, occasional downgrades, and AI gold rush-induced price hikes.
