A Look at google TV Streamer got a crazy price rise
The Google TV Streamer, as well as a range of Nest cameras and doorbells, have received huge price rises in what continues to be an awful year for tech value.
Google’s Chromecast replacement has been bumped a whopping 50% from $99.99 to $149.99. However, prices have only risen in the US.
In a statement to 9to5Google, Google announced that rising component costs have forced the company to adjust the price of the aforementioned devices in the US, with effect from 31 August.
The Google TV Streamer, launched two years ago, is thus yet another victim of the memory crisis; Google announced earlier this year that it had also been forced to raise the prices of its Pixel phones due to component costs, starting with the Pixel 11 phones.
If you’re thinking about getting a Google TV Streamer and you live outside the US, you should jump on it before similar price rises happen, which is unconfirmed but feels likely.
In the UK, you can still buy the device from the official store for £99.
