Every phone getting a new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset
Qualcomm has announced its new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 mobile chips, and these are the devices confirmed to run on them.
The latest Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii has yielded a pair of chips that will be powering high-end Android devices for the next year and beyond.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 is the direct follow-up to last year’s 8 Elite Gen 5, as seen on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. New this year, however, is an “Extreme” variant designed specifically for the “agentic AI era”.
Translation: it does AI stuff really well.
You can read about these speedy new chips in our dedicated article. We’re here to tell you which devices have already been confirmed to run on them.
Here they are, in alphabetical order.
Honor Magic 9 Pro Max
Honor has been making big moves with its flagship smartphone range in recent years, taking on the likes of Xiaomi and Oppo with its camera-heavy hardware. Its next high-end phone, the Honor Magic 9 Pro Max, is confirmed to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip.
Presumably it’ll employ all that power to enhance its Arri-branded video camera capabilities.

Honor
iQoo 16 and Pad Ultra
It doesn’t have a presence in the UK, but this performance-focused Vivo sub-brand traditionally jumps in early with Qualcomm’s latest chips. So it proves here, with both the iQoo 16 smartphone and the iQoo Pad Ultra tablet confirmed to run on Qualcomm’s latest chips when they launch together on 29 September.
We don’t know which, but that ‘Ultra’ tablet will likely go the Extreme route, while the phone could go with the standard chip.
Motorola Signature 27
Motorola’s next flagship phone, and the follow-up to the slinky Motorola Signature, was used to introduce Qualcomm’s new chip line. The Motorola Signature 27 is looking to be an excitingly premium contender, and will run the full-fat Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.
Expect plenty of AI tricks when it launches before the end of the year – and I can’t wait.

Motorola
OnePlus 16
The OnePlus 16 will be the first OnePlus flagship phone that won’t launch in the West, which is a bit sad. You may be a little cheered to note that it’s confirmed to run on Qualcomm’s Elite chip, so it won’t be at the very top of the performance like the OnePlus 15.
The alternative we will get is the Oppo Find X10 series, with the Pro Max running the 2nm Mediatek Dimensity 9600 Pro.
RedMagic 12 Pro
Nubia’s gaming phone sub-brand is always to be found somewhere near the cutting edge of mobile performance, so it’s no surprise that it jumped straight in with confirmation that the forthcoming RedMagic 12 Pro will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 when it launches in early November.
Xiaomi 18 Pro series
Xiaomi was quick to associate itself with Qualcomm’s new silicon. It’s splitting the new chips over its forthcoming Xiaomi 18 Pro range, with the regular model getting the regular 8 Elite Gen 6 and the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max running on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro range is getting a global launch and we don’t even have to wait until 2027.

Xiaomi
And the rest
While we don’t have any specific model announcements, Qualcomm announced that phones from Vivo and, intriguingly, Xiaomi’s Redmi budget sub-brand, would be running on its new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chips.
It’s also possible, so you’re aware, that some Samsung Galaxy S27 models in select markets will have the new Snapdragon. That is a long way off being confirmed, though.
