GTA VI is coming: 5 games to play while you wait
Some game launches are big. Grand Theft Auto VI is something else entirely. It’s been over a decade since the last GTA game, and Rockstar is finally taking us back to Vice City. This time its neon-soaked, Miami-inspired streets are just one small part of Leonida – a sprawling coastal state that stretches from the sun-baked Leonida Keys to the swamps of the Grassrivers and the wilds of Mount Kalaga National Park.
At the heart of it all are lead characters Jason and Lucia, a criminal duo who find themselves dragged into a vast conspiracy after a score goes wrong. But perhaps it’s Leonida itself – one of the most richly detailed open worlds ever built – that’s the true main character here.
It’s no exaggeration to call it one of the biggest game releases of the decade – and the hype is measurable. On digital marketplace G2A.COM, traffic to GTA VI offer pages rose 65-fold when Rockstar Games opened preorders. July alone accounted for 48% of all GTA VI-related traffic the site recorded between January and July, and the game has become the marketplace’s most-wishlisted offer in 45 countries.
With launch set for 19th November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, the wait is nearly over. Nearly. But if you need something to scratch that open-world itch in the meantime, these five games will do the job nicely – and they’re all available immediately from G2A.COM.
Grand Theft Auto V: Los Santos calling

What better warm-up for GTA VI than its predecessor? GTA V is one of the best-selling games of all time, and causing chaos in its sun-drenched satire of Southern California remains a joy. The interwoven story of retired bank robber Michael, ambitious hustler Franklin and the gloriously unhinged Trevor is Rockstar storytelling at its sharpest. Meanwhile, GTA Online serves up near-endless heists, races and criminal empires to build. We’re not the only ones feeling nostalgic: GTA-related browsing on G2A.COM has climbed as anticipation for the sequel builds.
Whether it’s your first trip to Los Santos or your fifteenth, grab Grand Theft Auto V on G2A.COM and get reacquainted with the series before heading to Vice City in November.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt: Better than ever

Few games do character-driven open-world storytelling like CD Projekt Red’s masterpiece of a fantasy RPG. As monster hunter Geralt of Rivia, you’ll scour a vast, war-torn world in search of your adopted daughter Ciri. But much like in GTA, the side quests are often every bit as memorable as the main plotline.
There’s never been a better time to dive in, either. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered launched on 29th September 2026 as a free upgrade for owners of the game. It brings full path tracing on PC, reworked combat, a restructured skill tree, smarter monster AI and plenty more, and base-game owners get the acclaimed Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine DLC expansions thrown in for free too.
The Blood of Dawnwalker: Fangs-tastic

This is the debut title from Rebel Wolves, a studio founded by developers who worked on The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. Like those games, it’s a seriously ambitious dark RPG in an open world. Here you play as Coen, a young man turned into a Dawnwalker. No longer quite human but not fully vampire, he’s caught between two worlds in 14th-century Europe as war and the Black Death sweep the land.
Its setting is Vale Sangora, a Carpathian region ruled by the vampire lord Brencis. As with Leonida in GTA VI, this is a huge and intricately detailed world that shifts and responds to your choices and movements.

Mafia: The Old Country – Man of Honor: An offer you can’t refuse

If it’s GTA’s criminal-underworld storytelling that you’re looking for, Mafia: The Old Country is essential. This atmospheric prequel takes the series back to 1900s Sicily, following Enzo Favara’s rise through the ranks of the Torrisi crime family.
The story got even richer on 14th August with the Man of Honor expansion. Set in the winter of 1905, it adds two new story chapters in which Enzo helps a freshly released Ennio Salieri settle some old scores (long-time Mafia fans will know the name well). There are also new contracts, weapons, vehicles and Free Ride challenges to tackle.
- Add Mafia: The Old Country – Man of Honor via G2A.COM and make your family proud.
Red Dead Redemption 2: Go west

Want another Rockstar epic to tide you over? Red Dead Redemption 2’s Old West setting is about as far from Vice City’s neon-lit urban sprawl as you can get, but the two titles share the same DNA: cinematic storytelling, unforgettable characters and a breathtakingly realised world.
Playing as grizzled outlaw Arthur Morgan, you’ll ride with the Van der Linde gang through the dying days of the Wild West in 1899, robbing trains, evading the law and getting caught up in strangers’ stories along the way.
