If you pre-order an iPhone Duo now, here’s when you might actually get one delivered – hint: it’s not this year

Apple’s iPhone Duo pre-orders either got off to a roaring start today. Either that, or they just didn’t have that many to go around in the first place. Despite the $1999/£1999 asking price, Apple fans wiped out supplies of the company’s first ever foldable phone in double-quick time.

At the time of writing if you order an iPhone Duo 256GB in the United States, the estimated delivery is January 25 2027. If you buy it in the United Kingdom, Apple says it’ll ship on January 22 2027. So pretty much the same situation.

Now the situation for in-store pick up might be a little different. Apple asks users to check back on October 24 for an updated estimate on when you might be able to get one in-store.

That’s probably because the handset itself will be available in-store on October 23. Perhaps on October 24, Apple would have a better grasp of when it can offer stock for pick-up. However, I really can ‘t see there being any leftovers after the first day of sales.

It appeared, on Friday morning, as if the stock available for rapid delivery was exhausted in a matter of minutes. Perhaps Apple doesn’t have that many of them right now and January will see a massive wave of hardware fly in?

Over the summer it was reported that Apple was struggling to build enough iPhone Duo units to meet demand. This week, a supply chain report suggested Apple has increased orders by 30% to ensure they’ve enough for everyone who wants one. That could raise the target to 10 million handsets overall, up from around 6-7 million.
