now intros cheaper

Now TV intros a cheaper football-only membership in case you’re not interested in other sports

In what is probably a sign of things to come, Sky-owned Now TV’s contract-free service has introduced a football-only tier meaning you don’t have to pay for other sport if you’re not keen to.

However, there is a catch with the £23.99 a month deal – the lower price is valid for 12 months only after which prices will no doubt rise. Sky says it has over 1,500 live matches this season across the Premier League, WSL, EFL and SPFL. As you’ll no doubt expect, it won’t get you access to the games that TNT Sports has rights to.

There are also two other membership tiers that sit around this – the Multi-Sport tier covers cricket, F1, NFL, darts and more for a well-priced £19.99 per month (so not giving you access to Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Premier League) while if you want the whole lot it’s available as the All Sky Sports package at £27.99 per month.

“With our new memberships, fans have more choice over the sport they pay for,” says Carli Kerr, managing director of Sky TV and Now. :Football fans can choose Football, and fans of F1, cricket, golf and more can pick Multi-Sport. And those who want everything can still get All Sky Sports.”

You can get these packages through Now devices or through Now on Apple or Amazon. If you get Now via EE, you will still get the full Sky Sports package.

You can still add the added-extra Boost package for Full HD 1080p, Dolby Digital 5.1 sound and streaming on two devices at once. Now says its service is available on over 60 different devices.
