Pixel 11 leaks yet again, this time in real life — Explained
As if the Pixel 11 hadn’t leaked enough already, it seems there’s always time for one more. After countless renders and press images, this time the phone has been shown in real-life pictures for the first time.
Google will announce its new flagship phone series on Wednesday in New York but demo units sent out to US networks have been papped ahead of the big event.
Courtesy of Pixel News Hub we can see the Pixel 11 Pro in hand, along with the box for the hero Dune colour (recently teased by Google), though it’s also been recently touted as Canyon elsewhere.
While there’s nothing new to learn from the hands-on image, it confirms the Pixel 11 Pro is going to come in a new matte black finish. Typically, the Pro models come with glossy frames, but this year’s Obsidian (or maybe Midnight Haze) has gone stealthy – one of many new colours.
The photo doesn’t give a great look at it sadly, but we can see what looks like a thinner camera bar with a trio of cameras, which contains the new notification light. This isn’t obvious as it’s housed in the camera flash and it’s shown in use here.
It was previously called Pixel Glow, but recent marketing material leaks show it as HiLight instead. It will be exclusive to the Pro models and glow blue when interacting with Gemini, plus alert you to favourite contacts calling with different colours. Beyond that, we’re not sure, but we hope there’s more to it.
All will be revealed at the Made by Google event where the firm will also announce the Pixel Watch 5 with a star-studded cast of guests, hosted by Trevor Noah.
A Pixel Tag Bluetooth tracker has also leaked, as well as a new dark green colour of the Pixel Buds Pro 2. As to whether Google has anything left to surprise us with remains to be seen.
