BaT member WrayG3 won this 1995 Honda Del Sol VTEC, which came to BaT for the second time in April 2025 with The_Dude_Abides. WrayG3 recently wrote in with an update:
This particular Del Sol caught my attention the first time on Bring a Trailer in November 2023, a year and a half or so before I acquired it as a BaT Alumnus car in April 2025. The first time it showed up, I had just started a family and a new business (G3 Motorsports), and the timing wasn’t right to add another toy. I sat back and watched the car move on to its new home. I’ve been a Del Sol owner since 2004, currently own a 1995 Si that was my first car, and this example was my holy grail. Being a one-year-only color, Isle Green Pearl was the rarest of the bunch and only available on B16 VTEC Del Sols.

In September 2025, I purchased a 1988 Caprice Estate with 27,000 miles from Competitioncars. This was my first experience buying a vehicle on Bring a Trailer, and the thought of buying ANY car online felt 100% against my best judgment; I am a risk-averse guy, and I know firsthand what can happen to cars over the years (i.e. unreported accidents, hidden flood damage, previous owner neglect, falsified titles, odometer shenanigans, etc.). Still, I really liked the wagon I was looking at. What I especially liked, and what allowed me to throw my typical caution to the wind and make a bid, was Bill’s presentation of the car. The photos and description he provided in the listing rang true, as did the totally transparent videos he posted.

We recently received this Success Story penned by BaT member Jinxi, who wrote a heartfelt update on the 1959 Volkswagen Beetle she bought from Racecarchip in a June 2025 BaT auction.
When I was 16 years old and living in Southern California, my dad worked as a pharmaceutical salesman whose territory stretched all the way up to the Mammoth Lakes area. One day in 1986, on one of his long drives through Bishop, California, he spotted a restored white 1969 Volkswagen Beetle parked with a For Sale sign in the window. The car was only 17 years old at the time, but to us, it was pure magic. My dad pulled over, talked with the kid who had lovingly restored it, and bought the car for $3,000. That weekend, we drove back up to Bishop to pick it up—and my life changed. Up until then, I had been borrowing my mom’s car whenever I could, but this one was mine. A real Volkswagen Beetle.

BaT user adsinger secured a 1981 Honda Motocompo and a battery-powered Honda Motocompacto, both of which he won from Premierautofl in an April 2025 combo BaT auction.

It was a typical Monday. I was doing patient rounds at the hospital when my phone rang. Thinking it was the traditional spam call at 1:00 PM, I silenced the call, expecting to see a local area code and no voicemail left. But to my surprise, an East Coast number left a detailed voice message. “Congrats on the win!” I thought these scammers were really getting creative, until I remembered that I had placed a bid on a gorgeous Root Beer metallic Honda Element SC an hour ago. No way—I had won. Every car I’d previously hunted on BaT escaped my grasp during the final two minutes. I was usually meticulous in my browsing and bidding, scrutinizing every photo and comment. But after several recent losses in bidding wars, I admit that I basically saw Root Beer metallic and placed a bid.
