“This was my Dad’s car. I learned to drive a stick in this car and took my drivers test for my license. He and I worked on it together and we would race through the mountains. When he was over seas, my mom and I had to drive it weekly to keep it running. both of my parents are in heaven. My mom is looking down at me, saying what in the hell are you thinking? My dad is looking down at me and saying hell yeah!”

“It’s bittersweet to see this car listed here with @craterface. I was the co-driver for the Modena Centro Ore event in this car and it was just a champion. In addition to buying a tested and regularly driven car, you are buying a top-tier seller. I’ve had the pleasure of over a decade of friendship with the seller and his is a dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate steward of his cars. He is especially fond of Alfas and I suspect there is another Alfa coming to replace this one. Bid with…”

“The 330 GTC has always been a favorite of mine. And the 512BB. When I was first working out of college in the early ’80’s my wife and I honeymooned in San Francisco and I dragged her to Ferrari Los Gatos, and there on the floor were my two dream cars, a 330 GTC sitting next to a 512BB. I remember them being in the $25 – $35K range? And thinking, I’ll be able to afford one of those. Unfortunately life intervened and prices for these cars increased but I was finally able to realize a dream…”

“Thanks to all bidders. I fell in love with the 904 when I first saw one in the 1980’s. I think it the most beautiful care design ever. Thats why I had to have the Beck 904. I started discussing the car with Chuck Beck in early 2020, and pulled the trigger in October of 2020. It was a 3 year build process, and I visited the factory many times during the build. My wife was involved too, and picked out the interior colors. I think it turned out nicely. Thanks for all the positive comments.”

“The 505 wagon, IMHO, is one of the great longroofs. They endure rugged conditions in Africa without complaint. The 4 cylinder engine is about as indestructible as they get. Cargo capacity is unmatched. Yet the ride is so so comfy. Best seats anywhere. The video shows it off well.”

Marrone Colorado is one of the best colors on these cars. Just outstanding, as is this example.
Having owned two of these cars, I can say that they are wonderful to drive in every respect. With proper servicing, they are as reliable as a Honda. They are not easy to work on and quite expensive for repairs and service.

“This is what the first-gen Celica liftback was meant to be. We got what was spec’ed for US market, same chassis but with the big 5mph bumpers and a much lower-performance engine. The 20R is great for a truck, but 100 hp at 4800 rpm isn’t as much fun as an 18R-G140 hp at 6500 rpm in a sub-2500 lb car.

So, In the dead of Winter, I rented a car and drove from Michigan to Washington DC and bought an Inka 1973 2002tii with sunroof. I drove it home, missing the blizzard in Pennsyvanis by a half day.

This is an excellent machine with so many things going for it. These are comfortable, versatile, very capable, very reliable, easy to ride, and easy to maintain. They are NOT sporty, quick, agile, exhilarating, or sexy. They are more like a tractor than a sports car. But that would be a German tractor, which means excellent engineering. (Think…”

We kept a fleet of 6-8 Yugos as service loaners. We also had a fleet of Mazda 323’s. But when those were all spoken for – the customer ended up with a Yugo.
That is, unless the customer complained really loud – then I got sent to the used car lot down the road to grab an Audi or something similar for them to drive.

A few of the comments that stood out to us yesterday:

“Reviewing the Marti Report on this beautiful F250 it appears that Teague Ford ordered it without a rear bumper. That was typical with Ford dealers in rural eastern Washington areas like Walla Walla. The factory installed rear bumpers offered by Ford at the time were considered inadequate for the kind of heavy duty usage intended by many customers – who were often farmers. Most often dealers in the area ordered pickups without rear bumpers to allow customers to select their preferred style from…”

The Model Prefix indicates it was built as a Utility trimmed Travel Top but somewhere along the line, the bulkhead and Sport Top were added. I wonder if it was the original owner. Interesting 800!”
