A Look at 2026 Michelin Tire Giveaway, Round 8—Pick Your Favorite!
We don’t know how we’re already halfway through September, but that means it’s time for Round 8 of our monthly Michelin/BFGoodrich Tire Giveaway! Our partners at Michelin USA have granted us the ability to hand out brand new sets of Michelin, Michelin Classic, and BFGoodrich tires to select BaT auction winners, and we need your help to choose the vehicle that’s going to get new rubber.
We’ve identified four candidates below, all no-reserve vehicles wearing older or mixed generic tires (or both). We want you to tell us which you’d like to see get a free set of new Michelin, Michelin Classic or BFGoodrich tires! Let us know your vote in the comments, and please vote for one car only. As with our Question of the Week contests, we heavily favor the People’s Choice—but on occasion, we reserve the right to hand the prize to the most appropriate candidate in our view. Since the auctions close over the course of a few days, voting will remain open until midnight Pacific time on Tuesday, September 22. That gives you time to think, and gives the auctions time to run their courses. We’ll tally the votes and announce the winner on Wednesday, September 23.
In no particular order, here are your candidates!
21-Years-Owned 1990 Honda CRX Si 5-Speed
The CRX was an offshoot of the third-generation Civic, born out of the so-called “Civic Renaissance” of the early 1980s. They’re nimble, fuel-sippers, and, in Si trim, they were equipped with a healthy dose of punch. This 1990 example was the penultimate year for the model and received a number of styling changes, along with four-wheel disc brakes. It’s a little rough around the edges, particularly where its bodywork and 14-inch alloys are concerned, but a fresh set of Michelins will be sure to freshen things up right off the bat.
32k-Mile 1986 Lincoln Mark VII LSC
Is there something vaguely sinister about this particular Mark VII, or is it just us? Aside from the black-over-black motif, this LSC wears an Erebuni body kit, giving it that oh-so-’80s mob boss vibe. Of course, as the performance variant of the Mark VII, the LSC was powered by a contemporary 302ci H-O V8 backed by a four-speed automatic and a Traction-Lok limited-slip differential out back. The black Riken basketweave wheels complete the look and would look even better wrapped in some Michelin performance rubber.
31-Years-Family-Owned 1985 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60
We collectively celebrate honest-to-goodness trucks and SUVs here at BaT, which is why at least one makes the cut for this giveaway every time. This time, it’s a 1985 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 that’s been in the same family since 1995, when it was acquired by the seller’s father in California. It rides on an Old Man Emu lift kit and 15-inch steelies wrapped in older 33-inch BFG KO tires. With 281k miles on the odometer, this example needs some maintenance throughout, but a fresh set of BFG KO3s would go a long way.
1983 Porsche 928S 5-Speed Project
Rounding things out is this running-and-driving 928S project, powered by a 4.7-liter V8 paired with a five-speed manual box. The seller notes the transmission makes a clicking noise in first gear, along with grinding sounds in third and fourth, but it looks like the BaT comment section is well on its way to sorting things out. But one thing’s for certain—a set of new Michelin or BFG tires would help the new owner get this project pointed in the right direction—the OG manhole cover wheels are even included with the sale!
