Happy Monday! We’re back to announce the winner for our Question of the Week, wherein our victor will be crowned with a $25 credit to the BaT Gear Store and win the acclaim of their peers.
This week we asked, what’s the most useful hidden feature from an auto manufacturer? You dug into the hidden recesses of your brains and brought forth nominations with all manner of concealed compartments for various, uhh, things. Seeing as none of you wrote in from The Slammer (as far as we know), we figured you’re all keeping everything above board. Right? RIGHT??
Today, we’re awarding the prize to longtime commenter and first-time QotW winner, @Fleche_dOr, who left the most-liked comment this week with his nomination of the Porsche 928’s air-conditioned glove box:

Our question was: What’s the best car that’s better with an automatic?

We knew there would be a bit of hesitation off the line for this QotW, but the cars you shared with us had us nodding our heads in agreement. After carefully reviewing the comments, we came away with a favorite of ours—the Chaparral racers, specifically the adjustable wing cars, as nominated first by BaT user @Cat-U-Dog:

“I would say the Chaparral race cars of the 60s with driver actuated aero, either the adjustable rear deck spoiler versions or the later cars with hub mounted wings.
These were actually semi-automatic but it eliminated the clutch pedal.”
