BaT Project Update: Mixing Things Up With an MG TF

BaT member l.a.brooks became the latest caretaker of this 1954 MG TF project car, which had been owned by the same family for the last 62 years and was sold by hawkgt6 in a September 2025 BaT auction. He’s made progress on it since and recently wrote in to tell us all about it:
I have been steadily improving this MG TF’s appearance and functionality since I got it home over a year ago. Essentially a “barn find,” this TF has been in Oregon since 2002, when the previous owner purchased it from his grandfather out of Sacramento, California. I have resurrected over 40 old Porsches, including 356s, 912s, 911s, and one Porsche tractor. Those were all barn finds from over the last 50 years, but this was my first British car. There was a bit of a learning curve, but the biggest challenge has been the fasteners. I have bins with metric fasteners of every size, pitch, and length all sorted, and most have been refinished. But precious few are applicable to the TF.

BaT Alumni Project Update: leokahn’s Ripe Olive 911SC You Should Know

BaT member leokahn became the latest custodian of this 1981 Porsche 911SC roller project when he won it from brentcline in a June 2019 BaT auction. After five years of work it’s back on the road, and he wrote in to tell us about it:
Mr. Cline was easy to work with. As soon as the auction finished, I went to the bank, requested a cashier’s check, and flew to Augusta, Georgia. I rented a car and drove to Aiken, South Carolina, where I met Mr. Cline and delivered him the check. That same day, we loaded the Porsche into an auto transport, which delivered it the next day at my shop in Miami.
