“I grew up with these cars! When I see one in this condition it instantly brings me back to when I could not wait for Friday night, a Trans Am, a date, an arcade to socialize and play games. Gary Hall, whose wife used one as a daily driver (!)… told me to correct the odd handling , you need to change to larger shocks, change spring rates, change to stiffer suspension bushings, change tire pressures with radial tires. I did on my earlier car #804 and it worked wonders! My current cat #1096 has updated revisions including QA-1 shocks, springs and factory updated engine and transmission mounts. It drives flawlessly. “Folks, the Gen 5 Viper was the epitome of everything great with cars. Manual transmission, rear wheel drive, hydraulic steering, and beautiful art inside and out with modern day technology. They will never make cars like this again and nothing made right now even matches the visceral feel of this. When you have mass produced 911s going for 200-500k, it’s amazing that this is not going for more than 500k. Those cars are so boring compared to this!”

It is one thing to shoehorn a Gen 3 Coyote into an early-model engine bay, but the way this has been engineered is incredibly clean. “TA rear spoilers rarely fit well, especially original cars, and even more so 79-81 cars with their urethane corner pieces. The later corner pieces also tend to appear as slightly different colors, and tend to fade to the point where the urethane is visible.
This car shows exceptionally well. I personally wouldn’t touch a thing in terms of overall appearance. This is certainly a rare offering amongst later TAs!”11

Very rare, look nearly identical to their garden variety siblings and the high desirability is based all around the engine.
Having a production car in 1972 with a redline of 7500-rpm was insane and the technology that went into that cylinder head was something the Europeans were not even doing until the next decade.
To some degree Nissan did themselves in, as the L-series grew to a 2.8L, a modified L28 could easily outgun a 432.…”
