    “Funny story – I was trying to find a correct new radiator cap for the TR4. I had gotten one from a British parts supplier, but it didn’t fit correctly. I grabbed my identical radiator from my project TR4 and went to the local parts stores to see what they had. Total strikeout. I went to Panda Express with TR4 radiator caps on my mind and got this fortune cookie. I immediately sent a picture of it to my wife saying “Looks like I’m getting another car!”.”

    “Anyone buying an RX7 that’s been sitting for a long time should assume it needs apex seals unless proven otherwise. The dash and radio are lit up in some pics, so the car has electrical power. I’m guessing lack of power is the result of a few horses escaping the engine bay.
    This FD is quite tempting. I have a few solutions for lack of power sitting in the corner of the shop ;)”

    “I own a higher mileage AZ-1 just like this. It is awesome. Obviously the new owner will likely keep this stock, but upgrading the suspension to the Navic coilovers and adding a stiffer roll bar front and back dramatically changed the handling. It went from leaning SUV in the corners to go-kart. Just my 2 cents.”

    “That fuse panel is as good as it gets for 48 years old, no wiring hacks, clean relay blocks, no signs of burnt fuse terminals. And all the fuse positions have the correct fuse in them, and fuse 13 is supposed to be empty. Gotta love the hand-painted stripes on many of the wires, these early cars are full of little easter eggs like that.
    Definitely worth the hassle of getting the pics to instill bidder confidence!”

    Happy Fourth to you all, and happy birthday to our union of 50 states on its sestercentennial or semiquincentennial, depending on your etymological preferences. Before you head off to your various barbecues and fireworks extravaganzas, we have prepared this list covering just some of the most noteworthy cars auctioned on Bring a Trailer in the last week. Today we’ve got an eclectic selection that includes an unlikely Bonneville racer, a tractor with Italian bodywork, a Porsche-powered Group C car, and a rare dealer-special Pontiac muscle car, among others.     “Mezger engine block was literally built to be wailed on at redline for 24 hrs straight, it’s nearly impossible to destroy it, you have to be intentionally holding it past redline for probably 1 hr+.
    Reminds me of the old cash for clunkers video where they emptied the oil pan on an 80 series landcruiser, put it in neutral, and floored it. It took like 20+ mins at past redline for the engine to give out with no lubrication.”

    “I have and would drive any 200 cross country. Bring a couple spanners 10mm 13 mm pop into advance grab some coolant and oil, bring an extra thermostat and you should be good to go.
