After 2025’s massive turnout, BaT was elated to be asked back to sponsor the Clear Lake Auto Social Society (CLASS) Car Club’s 42nd annual car show in Clear Lake, Iowa, on August 7th and 8th. Our intrepid staffers made the trek down from the Twin Cities Friday afternoon through what can only be described as “torrential” rain, but the skies soon cleared for the yearly cruise-in and ceremonial lap around the lake.

This one won’t be restored nor turned for profit, but it will be driven in the desert southwest and turn over 100,000 miles within a year or so. I drive ’em, I don’t show them or brag about them. “Awesome car. I love pic 149 because it tells a story of what likely happened to most radio delete Camaros in the early 80s when these cars were cheap enough to be purchased by teenagers who would not be caught dead in a car with no tunes. I can see the kid with his dad’s hacksaw, tin snips and pliers lying on his back in that trunk going to town. A couple hours later, with his brand new Jensen Tri-Axials installed, he’s cruising around town with tunes blaring. Radio delete option be damned!!”

Woodward Avenue, Detroit and Pontiac, Michigan—August 15, 2026
Detroit’s Woodward Avenue has an infamous history in the automotive world as the scene of countless stoplight drag races. The Woodward Dream Cruise, however, has a much more wholesome backstory. From its humble beginnings in 1995 as a fundraiser for a local soccer field, metro Detroit’s annual Woodward Dream Cruise has morphed into the world’s largest single-day automotive event. For its 31st year, roughly one million attendees spent an overcast but otherwise mild August day watching an estimated 35,000 cars, trucks, vans, and motorcycles ply the 16 miles of asphalt between Ferndale and Pontiac, Michigan.
There is no slow season at BaT: only busy, busier, and borderline swamped, which usually occurs during the summer and early autumn. With nearly 1,300 listings currently live on the site, even we have a hard time keeping up! But we love to take time each week to pick out a handful of the most interesting and significant vehicles from the last seven days, just for you.

“A 1952 220A Cabriolet was my daily driver in the early 1970s. When decades later I drove past a billboard depicting a painted one on Sunset Blvd, I did a u-turn to see what it was about. It advertised the Hiro Yamagata exhibit at Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery running from Sept 13 thru Oct 23, 1994. I was at the opening, chatted with Mr Yamagata, and marveled that I was seeing more 220As in one room than I had seen in my entire life.

Having had a chance to drive it down a curvy road or two, it’s mechanically perfect and just a hoot to drive as well.
