This is all called out in my 1969 Camaro facto book. Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins always raced with the transmission with the lowest first gear. He told me this years ago.”

I worked in the Ford Design Studio from 2005-2022 and these adjustment mechanisms were primarily used on clay armatures and were adjustable to simulate various ride height conditions. “Pininfarina was truly on a roll with these mid to late ’60s Ferrari cars. Some of most beautiful designs ever penned, IMHO. The blue is a formidable statement proving the simple elegance of the design. For bigger drivers (he said looking in the mirror) this might be the most comfortable Ferrari ever built. GLWTA!”

“This is what the first-gen Celica liftback was meant to be. We got what was spec’ed for US market, same chassis but with the big 5mph bumpers and a much lower-performance engine. The 20R is great for a truck, but 100 hp at 4800 rpm isn’t as much fun as an 18R-G140 hp at 6500 rpm in a sub-2500 lb car.
