“Looking through the photos at the hand built beauty of this Cheetah is a reminder of a time when a bunch of guys with a dream could put something like this together.
Some chrome moly, fiberglass and a bunch of odd parts and down the road you go. Like when my dad and I built a go cart from a Sears catalogue and a Briggs and Stratton lawn mower motor.

“In the summer of 1971, my parents took my brother, sister and me across country in a 67 Camaro 327 Sport Coupe towing a U-Haul covered trailer from Los Angeles to New Jersey. We were 13, 11 and 6 years old and it was tight back there, but an adventure. So yeah, people put a hitch on anything with a V8 back in the day. Beautiful car. I can’t help but wonder if someone will go stock, or create a Bullitt clone.”

The service writer put “Aspen” on the repair order, so my grandfather asked him to correct it. “The original owner of this car was a friend of mine and I can vouch that this car is everything it is claimed to be. John was a lifetime “collector” and over the years he bought a number of brand new vehicles, drove them home from the dealer, and never drove them again. For him, it was all about “having”. When he was a youngster in the 70’s and 80’s, he was well known in Studebaker circles for his cross-country road trips in his fleet Studebaker Diesel trucks.
