    Happy Car Week Eve, to those who celebrate! Some of our community will undoubtedly be in Monterey soon (check out the Mohr Imports Local Partners Insider’s Guide if you’re planning on it), but many of us will continue to live vicariously through features like this, our weekly roundup of strange and interesting cars currently live on the pages of BaT. This week we have some impressive classic and vintage racers (both real and re-created), Russian armor, a good amount of Pininfarina, and the biggest rat rod you’ve ever seen.     A Look at sludgo’s Mile Markers—Mile 223

    This last Saturday evening I met my youngest at the rib place over by the mall. We’ve made it a regular date ever since he moved out of the McBungalow however many years ago. I enjoy seeing him and think he enjoys seeing his dear ol’ dad, but I know full well that in light of his instant-ramen-level cooking skills what he likely enjoys most is having a decent meal once a week, especially if I’m springing for it. No matter. I don’t mind. It’s become a highlight of my week. I always buy a couple of scratch-off tickets for us—the five dollar kind—and we sit in our favorite booth scratching away, hoping to win big bucks as we chat about this and that and nosh on our racks of baby backs and stacks of sweet Vidalia beer-battered onion rings before washing everything down with a Long Island iced tea for me and a Dr. Pepper for the kiddo. It’s a good time. Like I said, a highlight of my week.

  • Here’s baT Auction Success Story: bamiot’s Sunburst Gold M3 Boomerang

    This Success Story comes to us from bamiot, who won this Sunburst Gold F80 M3 from casciomotors in a December 2025 BaT auction:
    I had the fortune of winning this 2016 Sunburst Gold Metallic BMW M3, one of just two F80 M3s originally collected via Euro Tourist Delivery.  My younger brother originally built it for a client, who turned and sold it—it’s the second of his BMW builds that I’ve won. In this case, my brother and his shop Parts Score in Scottsdale, Arizona, had previously installed Pure Turbos Stage 2 turbochargers and KW4 coilovers, among other tweaks. The car had been further modified after a subsequent purchase in 2016 by other shops in California, I believe.

  • What to Know About baT Auction Success Story: Right On the Slant Nose

    This Success Story comes to us from BaT member dustydangler24, who won this Porsche 930 Turbo Slant Nose from FinestVehiclesTraded in a December 2025 BaT auction:
    I had been waiting a long time for the right slant-nose to come up for sale, and when this 1988 911 Turbo cabriolet M505 finished in Grand Prix White over Lipstick Red appeared on Bring a Trailer, I immediately knew it was the one. There was simply no way I wasn’t going to win it. A bunch of bids came in early, and I’m not going to lie—I had a moment of “uh-oh, this may get away from me.” But it landed right where I expected it to, and the rest was history.

    “So an observation of a very obscure Honda factoid. This car has the dealer installed, recall program Takata black plastic guides still in place on the front seat belt latches.
