“My dad bought a new 406 w/3x2s in early ‘63. Ford introduced the 427 fastback “legend” as a 63 1/2 model. My dad blew up his 406 and Ford replaced it with a 427 shortblock…under warranty. He will be 85 next week. This one would be a great birthday present!”

“I’m the previous owner of this rig. We used it primarily as a rolling billboard for our RV Campground… had our logo on the side. Really drew attention. I can tell you it really drove better than I expected, several hundred miles freeway and highway with no issues. I did add LT tires on the back as well as the booster shocks to help with rocking/swaying. It’s much lighter than it looks, when i bought it three of us picked it up by hand and loaded it on a trailer.”

“Clearly this was an emotional purchase. This is SAAB Number 19 for me, started with 3 cylinder 2 cycles, a pile of 99’s including a 78 Turbo, and then on to the 900s. My wife converted from GM to SAAB with an 83 Turbo before we were married then a 87 Turbo that we brought both daughters home from the hospital in. Daughters still driving 9-3’s we bought them in high school.
My wife really really wanted this car, so as a good husband I had to get it done.”

“On vacation in Europe with my parents in 1965 we were in traffic next to a Ferrari similar to this. Have a vague recollection of the paler blue metallic, a far stronger impression as the traffic cleared was the howl as it disappeared down the road.
My father didn’t give chase in our Austin 1100.”

One of my best friends ordered a ‘63 Galaxie 500 XL Oxford Blue convertible with the 406/405 Tri-Power engine …By the time it arrived it had the new upgraded 427/425 Dual Quad engine..I can vividly remember the first time opening the hood and seeing those chrome valve covers marked 427-T ….I believe the “T” was for transistor ignition.
The ‘63 Galaxie has always been my favorite Ford, especially the
“R” code Fastback version.”

But THIS car has all the modern goodies with no Lucas Electrics gremlins and all the modern upgrades plus a spotless and powerful Ed Pink motor. This would be the Jag I would own. “My late grandfather had a 92 Accord EX sedan that he took to 800,000 before he passed. Unfortunately it was in northern Illinois so by the time he died the car was only about 75% there from the beltline down due to rust. It was a stick and still had the original engine and transmission (I think it was only on t he second clutch) and still drove like a dream. If it wasn’t for the rust I would have kept it and drove it to a million plus. This one is tempting. These are really great cars…”

The driver opens the doors and proceeds to offload a brand new GNX and a Turbo TA.
They still sit in that garage to this day.”
