“A ton of period chrome doo dads added to this bike. I can see both sets of floor boards, all hand controls, grips, shifter pegs and foot brake, fork lowers, crash bars, most of the case covers, and others I might not be seeing. That dual exhaust alone was probably $1k. That’s what we did to these bikes back in the day!”

“That fuse panel is as good as it gets for 48 years old, no wiring hacks, clean relay blocks, no signs of burnt fuse terminals. And all the fuse positions have the correct fuse in them, and fuse 13 is supposed to be empty. Gotta love the hand-painted stripes on many of the wires, these early cars are full of little easter eggs like that.
Definitely worth the hassle of getting the pics to instill bidder confidence!”

We’ve become completely spoiled by the evolving technology that now gives us 1,000HP with clean emissions, albeit typically in 4,500lb behemoths.
I nearly became a new Ford follower rather than jumping on the FWD Mopar developments at the time. The Fox chassis intrigued me as it solved the troublesome loading…”

“Call me crazy, but I prefer this over the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport. You simply can’t use the Bugatti nor remotely explore the limits. This Prelude you can drive at 10/10 and have a blast. Driving a slow car fast is more appealing and easily doable during everyday driving.”

“I know this car better than most, having owned it for seven years between 2016 – 2023 and being mostly responsible for the condition that it is presented in today. 
I have owned three DC2’s in total, they are wonderful drivers cars, for the enthusiast. 
This one however  is truly unrepeatable, it genuinely is a special car. 
when I bought the car it was unmolested, completely factory original with complete history, all keys and literature present even down to the original dealer plates…”

“My father was in the Army from 1939 until 1969 when he retired as a Colonel. He was active duty thru WWII and then in the reserve until he retired. He drove a split window VW like this to his reserve meetings and drills. I once asked him why the VW? He said it was reliable and got great gas mileage. Having been raised during the depression he was very frugal. This auction brings many fond memories. GLWTA.”

“I daily drove a very similar example for about a year and 13,000 miles – same year, 6 speed, RWD, ZSP, no nav.
I still think about it ALL the time. Out of the 20+ BMWs I’ve owned (including *four other E91s*, that one was one of my favorites and by far my favorite E91.
IMO, the miles aren’t that scary. Do the clutch/flywheel, but you shouldn’t have any other notable issues otherwise. A 3 stage manifold would be a nice add-on as well. This car is also pretty close to a stripper spec…”

“I had a ’68 for almost 20 years. I personally feel that the early SWB is the loveliest iteration of the 911, ever: cleanest lines, sublime, reductive design. 1968 has a bunch of “year-only” features that make it extra cool. Good luck to whoever wins this beauty and whatever you do afterwards, update this car to carrera chain tensioners immediately. It’s an easy upgrade and will save your engine when the original tensioners fail, which they definitely will. Awesome car!”

“Agree with @NVGT350. A Marti Report would be great to see how rare this spec actually is – a loaded GT ‘vert with power everything, leather, 3.08 (Z) axle, leather, premium stereo w/EQ, but no factory A/C. A very neat Fox body time capsule here. GLWA!”
