Fantasy football is a game in which participants draft a team of real-life NFL players and compete against other participants based on the statistical performance of those players in actual NFL games.
Points are awarded based on the players’ performance and participants can make roster moves and trades to try to improve their team throughout the course of the season. The goal is to have the most points at the end of the season, and often there is a prize for the winner.
Types of Fantasy Football Games:
1. Traditional/Season-long Fantasy Football: Participants draft a team at the beginning of the NFL season and compete over the entire season.
2. Daily Fantasy Football (DFS): Participants draft a new team for each individual game day or week and compete over a shorter time frame.
3. Dynasty Fantasy Football: Participants draft a team and keep most or all of their roster from year to year, building a team through the NFL draft and trades.
4. Keeper Fantasy Football: Similar to dynasty, but participants can only keep a limited number of players from year to year.
5. Redraft Fantasy Football: Similar to traditional, participants draft a new team each year without the option to keep any players.
