According to The Moho, someone reported this poor dog that had been hit by a vehicle a few days ago and can no longer move her hind legs.
It’s clear she recently gave birth and is likely distressed because she can’t find her puppies. People walk by, but no one helps as she sits motionless by the roadside, crying in distress for days.
A group of volunteers rescued the dog and took her to a local shelter. She appears to be paralyzed or suffering from a broken leg. They named her Sinead (pronounced “shinade”).
There were no signs of puppies anywhere, so she might still be pregnant. The volunteers searched the neighborhood and asked around, but there was no trace of her puppies!
After a day, she was taken to the Animal Wellness Center, where X-rays were done to assess the extent of the injury caused by the hit-and-run.
Sinead’s X-rays came back negative. She doesn’t have any fractures in her limbs or pelvis, but there is a spinal fracture affecting the nerves in her hind legs.
She was able to defecate and urinate at the shelter, so we’re hopeful that her bodily functions haven’t been affected. Dr. Gama, who took the X-rays, believes laser therapy has a chance to help her recover.
She will undergo intensive laser therapy for seven consecutive days. Therefore, they have to keep her there as it’s too stressful for her to be driven on rough roads daily.
After four days, she’s still on fluids and nutritional support to help boost her red blood cells.
She also has a catheter because she’s having difficulty emptying her bladder. She continues to receive regular laser therapy.
She’s doing much better. Now she can eat and drink on her own, and last night she pooped three times.
After 13 days and nine laser treatments, there’s significant improvement in her muscle and bone development.
However, like with Tink, her spine remains misaligned, but we hope it will strengthen with more laser therapy.
A month later, she’s in good condition, though the vets are unsure if Sinead will regain the use of her legs.
I hope she finds a home! We’re praying for you! I hope you recover the use of your hind legs! We love you, Sinead!
