Can Post-Surgery Swimwear Also Be Sexy?

can postsurgery swimwear

For many people being diagnosed with Breast Cancer and going through a mastectomy is the end of wearing swimwear or being seeing out there showing off your beach body. This is not fare. You should have to be condemned to wearing boring swimwear only because you happened to have a mastectomy. A larger number of swimwear brands are creating post-surgery swimwear for all of you who want to look sexy and confident in swimwear.  A growing percentage of women need Post-surgery swimwear Did you know Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in the UK? Around 55,000 get diagnosed every year, according to Cancer Research UK, which is an astonishing number. If you work out the numbers, this means that around 150 women get diagnosed a day with breast cancer. Numbers, according to this charity, are meant to grow in the next years.  Prevention and earlier diagnosis are crucial, that’s why the job of doctors and campaigners is so important. As October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, we want you to remind you to check your boobs for any signs of breast cancer. At UK Swimwear, we are proud supporters of Breast Cancer Care, so we always encourage people to get involved in the cause by making a donation or joining any of its amazing campaigns.  Regular swimwear Vs Post-Surgery swimwear Why wearing post-surgery swimwear, instead of regular swimwear? Well, it depends on several factors. Women who have had a mastectomy usually prefer buying post-surgery swimwear for different reasons:  Covering scars: Post-surgery swimwear hides any scars. Not only it covers any scars (a factor that concerns many women), but also and more important, it also protects them. New tissue is usually extremely sensitive, that’s why post-surgery swimwear has smoother liner and flat seams.  Post-surgery swimwear has pocketed cups, which allow the use of breast prosthesis, if necessary.  Extra-supportive swimwear: With or without a prosthesis, women often feel less confident to be seen in swimwear. Post-surgery swimwear often is supportive, without feeling uncomfortable (eg. without underwired cups).  Swimming is part of the recovery for many women as a way to regain strength on the arms, so wearing a supportive swimsuit is very important to carry on with your therapy.  Can post-surgery swimwear be pretty or even sexy? Yes, your post-surgery swimwear can be both pretty and sexy. You don’t have to wear boring swimwear only because you went through breast surgery. Designer Clover Lewis realised of the need for luxury swimwear after struggling to find post-surgery swimwear to match her own style and created her own swimwear brand.
