TOWIE star Shelby Tribble has hit back at trolls for saying she’s “aged badly” 10 years after appearing on the reality show.
Shelby joined the Essex show in 2018 but decided to quit the following year after finding love on the show with co-star Sam Mucklow.
The pair went on to have two kids, a boy called Abel, five, and another son named Teskey, one.
After receiving a nasty message about her appearance, Shelby insisted she inevitably looks different a decade on from her Towie days.
The follower’s message read: “You’ve aged a lot and it really shows.”
Shelby hit back, writing: “Imagine hiding your entire identity behind a blank profile just to try and criticise someone else’s appearance.
“The irony is genuinely embarrassing.”
She the posted a video on herself wearing a face mask on Instagram and said: “Ironic if you ask me, I’m over here trying to age gracefully and no s***, of course I’m not going to look like a look at 23, we’re 10 years on.
“It might have taken me a little while but I’m finally happy in my own skin and unfortunately aging does tend to happen if you’re still alive.”
Reiterating her point, Shelby captioned the post: “Isn’t it ironic from a profile like that. Aging like fine wine, I’d say… And if I look anything like my mum and nan as I ‘age’, I’ll be very happy indeed.
“I’m lucky enough to have so many amazing people here who take time out of their day to lift others up and spread kindness, and I see those lovely comments far more often than anything else so thank you for the love.”
Shelby’s followers were quick to share their support, with one writing: “Your comment, ageing tends to happen when you stay alive, mic drop. You look beautiful Shelby.”
A second posted: “You look lovely and so natural. So many jealous people out there.”
A third commented: “I don’t even think you’ve aged! You look amazing.”
In January, Shelby confirmed she was engaged to Sam after he popped the question in a New Year’s proposal.
Shelby’s oval diamond ring glistened in the snap which also showcased a huge floral decoration in the shape of a love heart.
Roses were scattered around a sign that said “will you marry me” for the gorgeous proposal during the pair’s New Year holiday.
Captioning the snaps, Shelby said: “YES a million times over.
As well as appearing on The Only Way Is Essex, Shelby and Sam also featured on the first series of MTV’s Famous and Pregnant, which followed her pregnancy with their first son, Abel.
Shelby and Sam first met on TOWIE in 2018 and began their romantic relationship a year later.
Shelby and Sam’s romance was fraught in the early days with them being open on TOWIE about their plans to enjoy a ‘friends with benefits‘ style connection and would not actually romantically commit to one another.
However, when Sam also began casually dating Demi Sims, Shelby’s jealousy came to the forefront.
It led them to re-evaluate their romance before they eventually began to solely date each other.
Prior to her entanglement with Sam, Shelby had a romance with another co-star, Pete Wicks.
The Sun first confirmed they’d split in 2018 – months before Shelby began hooking up with Sam.
Sources claimed that Pete brutally saw Shelby as “boring” and only romanced her by way of a rebound after his highly-publicised split from Megan McKenna earlier in the year.
