Leeds vs Man Utd preview
It’s been a difficult week for Michael Carrick and Manchester United, and I can’t imagine it getting any easier when they travel to Elland Road today.
The Red Devils suffered heartbreak after relinquishing the lead against ten-man Tottenham last weekend, before Atletico Madrid dispatched them with a minimum of fuss in the Champions League midweek.
All told, Manchester United have just six points from six Premier League games in 2026-27, their lowest tally after six league games since 1986-87 under Ron Atkinson.
But at least they’ve been consistent, because for a second consecutive season, the Red Devils have kept no clean sheets in their first six games…
It’s left Carrick as one of the favourites to be the next Premier League manager sacked, with Eddie Howe and Antonio Conte the leading contenders to replace him at Old Trafford.
But there’s a chance to change the narrative in West Yorkshire, and history suggests they can.
