MANCHESTER UNITED are among the teams looking into the losses they could have made in relation to Manchester City’s Premier League financial breaches.
City were found guilty of all but one of the Prem’s 115 charges on Friday in a bombshell revelation.

The charges come after an investigation by top flight officials over alleged breaches between 2009 and 2018.
It’s unclear what sanctions the club have received, but it has been suggested they could receive a fine, points deduction or an EXPULSION from the league.
Some have even claimed the club could have their past trophies stripped from them and handed to their rivals.
The consequences from the verdict could have massive ramifications and according to the Athletic, United chiefs are already looking into how they could have been impacted.
The report says the club have already conducted an internal assessment over how economic losses “could be attributed to Manchester City’s breaches”.
It’s claimed the assessment focused on the years where United were “directly impacted”.
That included the 2011-12 and 2017-18 Prem seasons after finishing second to City.

United also finished fifth in the 2015-16 season, while City finished fourth on goal difference – pipping them to Champions League football in the process.
Manchester United declined to comment when approached by SunSport.
The report adds that a number of Prem clubs are “considering their legal positions” ahead of any sanctions being handed to City.
It’s understood Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool and United all filed for the right to seek damages earlier in the legal process.
Liverpool came runner-up to City twice in 2019 and 2022, while Arsenal also finished second to their rivals in 2023 and 2024.
The Etihad outfit have always denied the allegations and are expected to launch an immediate appeal.
A City spokesperson told The Athletic: “The Premier League process remains ongoing, with significant elements to be completed, and subject to strict confidentiality.
“As such Manchester City FC’s position remains consistent with the club’s statement of February 2023.
What were Man City charged with?
MAN CITY have been found guilty of all but one of the 115 charges they were initially hit with.
Those charges were upped to 130 and fit into the following six categories…
- Failing to give accurate financial information over sponsorship revenue, related parties and operating costs between 2009-10 and 2017/18. Total charges: 50
- Failing to provide full details of managerial remuneration between 2009/10 and 2012/13. Total charges 8

- Breaching Premier League Profitability and Sustainability rules between 2015/16 and 2017/18. Total charges 25
- Failing to co-operate with the Premier League investigation between 2018/19 and 2022/23. Total charges 30
- Total charges: 130

“The club has diligently respected due process for eight years on the basis the Premier League board and executive would behave as an independent, impartial and fair minded regulator, free from partisan influence.”
The investigation began after German newspaper Der Spiegel published leaked financial documents from City in November 2018.
The case was referred to an independent commission to adjudicate over the charges.
During the period of the charges, the club won three Premier League titles, the FA Cup twice, the League Cup four times and the Community Shield.
While the prospect of City having titles stripped from them has been mooted, it’s understood a points deduction from when the decision is made is more likely.
The club also face potential huge fines – as much as £100million.
