“I don’t think I want to become a coach, but I’m still unsure of what I want to do in the future. I value everything I do daily more than ever before. So I’m just thinking about playing, training, and enjoying myself.”

Recently, there has been speculation that Messi, alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, aims to set a record by participating in six World Cups. However, during his conversation with Romano, Messi reiterated his uncertainty about the 2026 World Cup.

“The truth is, I don’t know, although I’ve been asked many times, especially in Argentina,” Messi said. He explained that he wants to wait to see how his body and emotions respond before making a decision.

“I hope to finish the season well, then have a positive preseason. From there, I’ll see how I feel. A lot happens in football. The road ahead is long, so I don’t think much about it. I take things one day at a time without worrying too much about the future.”

Messi is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in football history, with a significant legacy.

“Let people remember me however they want. I am deeply grateful for my career and everything I’ve achieved through God’s grace,” Messi responded when Romano brought up the topic of his legacy.

Messi has yet to decide on his participation in the 2026 World Cup.

He is happy with what he has achieved: “My biggest dream was to win the World Cup, a tournament I fought for over many years and with a lot of effort. I’m lucky to have achieved everything with Barcelona and the Argentina team, and to have a wonderful life and family.”

Messi is now aiming for his first MLS championship with Inter Miami.

“We are thrilled and celebrated the achievement of the Supporters’ Shield because it was something tough and important. But we know the title we truly want is the MLS Cup.

Throughout the season, we made several avoidable mistakes, which can’t happen in the playoffs because it could mean elimination. I think Inter Miami is one of the contenders for the title.”
