Wat Huay Mongkol to host PM Anutin on 27 June
Wat Huay Mongkol in Hua Hin is due to host Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul on Saturday 27 June for a Buddhist consecration ceremony for a new series of Luang Por Thuad amulets.
The ceremony will be held for the “Disease-Free, Safe” edition of Luang Por Thuad amulets, created by the Foundation for the Development of Queen Navamindrarajini 60th Birthday Anniversary Commemorative Health Stations.
Dr Sophon Mekthon, chairman of the foundation, said sacred materials and gold plates blessed by respected monks from different regions of Thailand had been gathered from commemorative health stations nationwide.
A ceremony to melt the sacred materials was previously held at Wat Pariwat Ratchasongkhram on 8 March. The consecration ceremony will now take place at Wat Huay Mongkol in Hua Hin district, Prachuap Khiri Khan.
Why the amulets are being produced
Dr Sophon said the amulets are being made as commemorative items for the foundation and to raise funds for the development of 92 commemorative and royal health stations across Thailand.
The proceeds will also support the foundation’s central work, including the use of digital technology and medical equipment to improve primary healthcare services.
According to the foundation, the initiative is also intended to provide sacred objects for people who have faith in Luang Por Thuad and wish to keep them as a source of reassurance and blessing.

The amulets are being produced in several forms, including sema-shaped medallions in gold, silver, gold-plated enamel, gold-coloured alloy and copper.
Other versions include large amulets made from sacred mixed materials, powder amulets made from sacred herbs, small alpaca metal medallions and small enamel medallions.
Reservations can be made at commemorative health stations nationwide or through the foundation office at the Department of Health Service Support, Ministry of Public Health, in Nonthaburi. The foundation can be contacted on 0-2193-7099.
Online reservations are also available through the NexGen eCommerce system by scanning the QR code in the official brochure. The foundation said donations are eligible for a one-time tax deduction.
The foundation supports 92 health stations nationwide, with a focus on improving buildings, service quality and digital systems. Its projects include the “Sor Or Nor Buddy” home-visit app, telemedicine services and AI voice-to-text systems for health staff.
