Free seminar in Hua Hin to address risks of nominee shareholding
A free online seminar aimed at business owners, investors and company directors in Thailand will take place on 24 April 2026, focusing on the increasing legal risks surrounding nominee shareholding structures.
Organised by MBMG Group, the session comes amid reports that authorities are stepping up enforcement, with police now issuing criminal summons to directors and shareholders rather than routine notices from the Department of Business Development (DBD).
The seminar, titled “Nominee Shareholder: When the Letter Becomes a Summons,” will provide a practical overview of the situation and what individuals and businesses should do if they are affected.
According to the organisers, the session will cover:
- A detailed breakdown of the summons document
- Who is currently being targeted by authorities
- What is meant by “operational substance”
- Legitimate restructuring options for businesses
The webinar will be led by Janjira Sumanus, CEO and founder of MBMG Group, who will guide participants through the legal and practical implications of the ongoing crackdown.
