Somtam Shop Owner in Takhian Tia Awakes at 5 a.m. to Find Water Meter Stolen, Appeals for Public Tips
PATTAYA, Chonburi – August 6th, 2026
The owner of a somtam shop in the Takhian Tia Subdistrict, has appealed for public assistance after thieves stole the property’s water meter in the early hours of Wednesday.
The victim said she woke at approximately 5:00 a.m. to prepare for the day’s business as usual, only to discover there was no running water. Upon checking the meter installation point at Ban Sang Kapriao, Moo 1, Sang Kapriao–PTT Road, she found the entire water meter unit, containing copper components, had been removed. The valve had also been shut off, leaving the premises without water.

Closed-circuit television footage later reviewed by the victim showed a white pickup truck entering the area and turning around in front of the house near the estimated time of the theft. However, a camera malfunction during the critical period has prevented confirmation of any link to the incident. Further investigation is underway.

The shop owner plans to file a formal complaint with police investigators this morning and is coordinating with the local water authority to install a replacement meter as quickly as possible so normal operations can resume.

She asked anyone who may have witnessed the incident or possesses useful information to contact the authorities to help bring the suspects to justice.
