Mir Raza case deepens as guest house probe expands

A major development has emerged in the investigation into the death of Karachi businessman Mir Raza Ali. Investigators have obtained further details about the guest house linked to the case. The premises is located near the place where Mir Raza’s body was recovered.

According to investigation findings, the guest house was registered in the name of a man identified as Liaquat Ali. The property itself is reportedly owned by a woman. Police verification of the property was carried out on June 1, 2026.

Investigators also found that the guest house was not registered on the Hotel Eye application. Police had made registration on the system mandatory for hotels and guest houses.

After the discovery of Mir Raza’s body, police sealed the guest house. Six people working at the premises were taken into custody for questioning. Their statements are being recorded as investigators try to determine whether the guest house has any connection with the case.

So far, police have detained 21 people in connection with the investigation. The detainees include Mir Raza’s friends and business partners. Investigators are examining their statements and movements.

A five-member investigation committee also held a meeting under the leadership of DIG Crime Branch Amir Farooqi. The committee is reviewing the case in light of new medical and forensic evidence.

Police have also expanded the charges in the case. Sections 365 and 302 were already included in the FIR. Section 201 has now been added. The provision relates to concealing, removing or destroying evidence connected to an offence.

The development follows a second post-mortem conducted after Mir Raza’s grave was exhumed on August 8. The preliminary medical findings reportedly showed several injuries on his body.

The report indicated a gunshot injury to the back. The entry wound was smaller, while the wound on the front side was larger. Medical findings suggest that the bullet entered from the rear and passed through the body.

The examination also found fractured ribs. Several injuries were observed on Mir Raza’s head and face. A wound and fracture measuring about 12 centimetres were found on his right thigh.

Blood marks were also detected in tissues in the lower part of his body. Further examination revealed a deep injury and fracture in his jaw. Injuries were also found on his nose and other parts of his face.

Investigators collected 17 samples during the exhumation. Samples from Mir Raza’s parents were also obtained for DNA comparison. The samples are expected to be examined at the forensic laboratory of the University of Karachi.

After the samples were collected, Mir Raza’s body was reburied on the same day.

Mir Raza Ali Khan had gone missing from the PECHS area on July 28. Police said he left his home at around 4:09am in an online taxi.

His body was found two days later in Gulistan-e-Johar. Police officials said the body was in a badly damaged condition. A gunshot wound was also found on his chest.

Investigators also found that Mir Raza’s social media accounts had been deactivated a day before his body was recovered.

His family has consistently maintained that he was murdered. His father said Mir Raza was preparing for his marriage and was excited about starting a new phase of his life. His nikah had been scheduled for August 30 at Baitul Mukarram Mosque in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

The latest investigation has brought renewed attention to the guest house and the people associated with it. Police are now examining medical evidence, forensic samples, CCTV footage, statements and other available material.

Louis Partridge sparks speculation after deleting …

Louis Partridge has fueled fresh speculation about his relationship with ex-girlfriend Olivia Rodrigo after fans noticed that he had deleted a heartfelt Instagram post previously dedicated to the singer. The move comes months after reports claimed the couple ended their relationship in late 2025 and shortly after Rodrigo was seen publicly with her rumored new boyfriend, prompting renewed attention from fans online. (pinkvilla.com) Partridge and Rodrigo first sparked romance rumors in 2023 before making several public appearances together. Throughout their relationship, the pair generally kept their romance private, although they occasionally shared affectionate moments on social media and during public events. Reports later suggested the two quietly went their separate ways in December 2025, though neither publicly discussed the reason behind the breakup. (pinkvilla.com) The latest speculation began when fans realized that Partridge had removed an Instagram post celebrating Rodrigo’s birthday. The post, which had featured a sweet message and photos of the couple, was no longer visible on his profile. The timing quickly caught the attention of social media users because it came after Rodrigo was photographed with a new rumored partner, leading some fans to wonder whether the deletion was intentional. (pinkvilla.com) Despite the online chatter, there is no confirmation that the deleted post was meant as a message toward Rodrigo. Neither Partridge nor the singer has commented publicly on the removal, and there is no verified evidence suggesting the actor was attempting to criticize or “shade” his former girlfriend. Many celebrities choose to archive or delete posts from previous relationships after a breakup, making the move relatively common. (pinkvilla.com) Rodrigo, meanwhile, has continued to focus on her music and public appearances. Recent reports linking her to a new boyfriend have attracted significant attention, although the Grammy-winning artist has not publicly addressed the status of her personal life. She has often preferred to keep her relationships private despite intense media interest. (pinkvilla.com) As for Partridge, the actor has remained focused on his growing film career while largely avoiding discussions about his private life. Although the deleted Instagram post has sparked widespread speculation, the true reason behind its removal remains unknown. For now, fans continue to debate the timing of Partridge’s decision, but without a statement from either star, any claims that the deletion was directed at Olivia Rodrigo remain unconfirmed. The incident highlights how even small social media changes can quickly become the subject of major public speculation when high-profile celebrities are involved.

Murad vows action as Mir Raza murder probe uncover…

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has assured the family of murdered businessman Mir Raza that the investigation will be conducted fairly and that those responsible for any police or medico-legal lapses will face action once the case is concluded. Speaking to reporters at the Arts Council Karachi on Tuesday, the chief minister said the proposed judicial commission was not meant to investigate the murder itself. He explained that the police were responsible for probing the killing, while the commission was intended to examine shortcomings in the handling of the case by police and medico-legal authorities. Murad said the provincial government had initially discussed the commission with Mir Raza’s parents through the home minister and Karachi mayor, and the family had agreed to the proposal. However, after the family later withdrew its support, the government respected their decision. Meanwhile, investigators have received the chemical analysis report from Mir Raza’s first post-mortem, which reportedly detected traces of acid on his shirt. The report also found gunshot residue on the rear side of the shirt’s perforation, identified as the entry wound. Further samples were collected during a second post-mortem after the body was exhumed. So far, investigators have received the DNA report, which confirmed that the remains belonged to Mir Raza. The investigation team is also preparing to conduct geofencing around different locations near the crime scene in Gulistan-i-Jauhar to establish the movements of people in the area around the time of the incident. Call data records from Mir Raza’s mobile phone will also be obtained as part of the probe. At the request of the family’s lawyer, Jibran Nasir, DSP Siraj Lashari and Inspector Mohammed Ali have been added to the investigation team headed by DIG Amir Farooqui. Mir Raza, an IBA graduate and owner of the food business Wafflix, went missing on July 28. His body was discovered the following day in bushes near Shahi Qila Ground in Gulistan-i-Jauhar. In a related development, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has summoned four people over alleged defamatory social media content concerning Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and his son in connection with the murder case. Syed Abdullah, Amin Qureshi, Bilal Warsi and Obaid Qureshi have been directed to appear before the NCCIA’s Karachi office on August 13. The notices were issued following a complaint filed on Memon’s behalf, alleging that fabricated and defamatory material had been circulated through digital platforms. Memon had approached the cybercrime agency after claims circulated online alleging that he owned a guest house in Gulistan-i-Jauhar where Mir Raza was allegedly tortured and killed. Other posts claimed that Memon’s son had travelled to London immediately after the incident and was later seen accompanied by a security guard. The latest developments come as investigators continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding Mir Raza’s disappearance and death, while authorities face growing pressure to ensure that every aspect of the case is thoroughly examined.

DNA tests ordered after Mir Raza Ali’s grave exh…

KARACHI: An eight-member medical board has completed a fresh post-mortem examination of Wafflix owner Mir Raza Ali’s exhumed remains and sent samples for DNA and chemical testing, amid questions over the identity of the body and the circumstances surrounding his death. Ali’s grave was exhumed on Saturday at the Tariq Road cemetery in Karachi, where the medical board collected evidence before the remains were reburied. Professor Dr Naseem, a member of the medical board, said the samples had been properly preserved and would be examined at a laboratory. The testing will include DNA analysis and chemical examination, which officials say could provide crucial evidence in the case. The exhumation and re-post-mortem were conducted under the supervision of the judicial magistrate and police surgeon. Advocate Jibran Nasir said the process began at around 11:07am and was completed after the medical team collected the required evidence. He said the board had also addressed questions previously raised by the police surgeon. According to Nasir, an initial medical report was expected later on Saturday, while the final findings would be issued after completion of the chemical examination. The fresh examination is expected to help determine whether Ali died by suicide or was murdered and whether the injuries found on the body were self-inflicted or caused by another person. Nasir said the proceedings had been conducted satisfactorily and expressed appreciation for the judiciary’s intervention in the matter. He said the investigation could help resolve speculation and unanswered questions surrounding the young entrepreneur’s death. However, another member of the medical board, CPLC official Amir Hasan, raised a significant question over the identity of the remains. Hasan said the board was not yet certain that the exhumed body belonged to Ali. To establish the identity, DNA samples were collected from the remains as well as from Ali’s parents. He said the DNA comparison would determine whether the body buried at the cemetery was indeed that of Ali.

The musician said that although he was disappointed by their response, he remained confident in his composition. Since the song had already received approval from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Bagga ultimately decided to perform it himself. He further revealed that singing Pakistan Zindabad was particularly challenging because the composition required extremely high notes. Bagga admitted that he does not consider himself a high-note singer and had to put in significant effort to prepare for the performance. The singer explained that reaching such demanding notes required extensive practice. He worked hard on his vocals and rehearsed repeatedly before recording the song, eventually taking on the challenge himself. Pakistan Zindabad went on to become a major patriotic hit. The song was released on March 23, several years ago, and quickly gained widespread popularity among Pakistani audiences. Its energetic composition, patriotic lyrics and powerful vocal performance helped it become one of the memorable ISPR songs. The song has continued to attract viewers on YouTube and has reportedly accumulated around 249 million views. Bagga’s revelation about the singers who turned down the project has now added another interesting chapter to the story behind the hugely popular patriotic anthem.
