Government’s postal ID caravan goes to Marawi August 1–23

In solidarity with the people of Marawi and the communities of Lanao del Sur, the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) will bring its postal ID caravan to the Marawi Convention Center, Ground Zero, Marawi City, from August 19 to 23, 2026.

The initiative underscores PHLPost’s commitment to making essential government services more accessible, particularly to communities continuing their journey of recovery, rebuilding, and development.

Through the caravan, residents will have the opportunity to apply for a postal ID, a valid government-issued identification card that can be used for identity verification in government, financial, travel, employment, educational, and other transactions.

To make identification services more inclusive, Filipinos who do not have a valid government-issued ID may apply for a postal ID. Applicants may establish their identity through a birth certificate, while proof of residence may be provided through the prescribed supporting documents, such as barangay certificate or proof of billing showing the applicant’s exact name and current residential address. This policy is intended to help first-time ID holders and residents of remote and culturally diverse communities, including Indigenous peoples and Muslim communities.
