Hua Hin entertainment venues checked in drug operation
Officials inspected three Hua Hin entertainment venues as part of a 90-day operation targeting illegal drugs, licensing offences and public safety concerns.
The inspections took place on the night of Wednesday, 22 July, under the direction of Prachuap Khiri Khan Governor Sittichai Sawatsan.
Hua Hin District Chief Supachai Krutdam and Hua Hin District Public Health Chief Jenwit Phalisak led the operation, supported by officials from the district administration, Hua Hin Police, the Excise Department, Immigration, Hua Hin Municipality and the provincial Public Works and Town and Country Planning Office.
Checks cover licensing, age limits and safety

Officials checked whether the venues were operating within legally permitted opening hours and preventing people under the age of 20 from entering.
Operators were also reminded of laws covering human trafficking, prostitution, indecent performances, firearms and illegal drug use or possession on the premises.
Safety inspections included the structural condition of the buildings, firefighting equipment, emergency exits, directional signs, electrical systems, emergency power cut-off systems and alarm systems.
Mr Jenwit said the campaign was launched in response to government policy on preventing and suppressing illegal drugs.
The operation runs from 1 July to 30 September and focuses on drug-related offences, laws governing entertainment businesses and the safety of venues open to the public. Authorities said the measures were also intended to reduce the risk of violence.
Businesses were instructed to comply strictly with all relevant laws. Officials said operators found committing offences would face legal action.
Unannounced inspections of Hua Hin entertainment venues will continue throughout the 90-day campaign.
