Kaia Gerber speaks out on brother Presley’s addi…

Kaia Gerber is speaking publicly about her brother Presley Gerber’s long-running struggles for the first time, offering a rare glimpse into how addiction and mental-health challenges affected their family.

In a new interview for Vogue’s September 2026 issue, the 24-year-old model and actress discussed the difficult experience of watching her older brother navigate serious personal challenges. Kaia also reflected on why her family’s decision to keep private matters away from the public eye did not always make it easier to deal with them. (Vogue)

A family that valued privacy

Kaia is the daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber. The family has generally maintained a private approach to personal matters, particularly when it comes to their children.

However, Kaia explained that Presley’s struggles affected the entire family dynamic. She said she began trying to be the “easy” child, avoiding asking her parents for help because she did not want to add more pressure during an already difficult period. (Page Six)

Her comments reveal how one family member’s difficulties can influence everyone around them, even when those issues are kept away from the public spotlight.

Presley’s openness changed the conversation

Kaia also expressed admiration for Presley’s decision to speak more openly about his experiences. Rather than viewing his willingness to discuss his struggles as something embarrassing, she described it as an important example of vulnerability.

Presley has previously spoken publicly about his mental-health and substance-use struggles. His openness has allowed the family to approach the subject differently and has helped Kaia recognize the importance of being honest about difficult experiences. (People.com)

For Kaia, hiding painful experiences was not necessarily the best way to protect the family. Instead, Presley’s willingness to talk about what he had gone through showed her that vulnerability can help people feel less isolated.

A new perspective on family support

Kaia’s comments do not simply revisit her brother’s past. They also show how her own understanding of family support has changed.

Growing up in a famous family meant that privacy was especially important, but Kaia now appears to recognize that silence can sometimes prevent people from asking for the support they need.

Her candid discussion comes as she promotes The Shards, Ryan Murphy’s new FX adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’s novel, in which she stars alongside Homer Gere. The Vogue feature also explores her career, famous family and experiences growing up under intense public attention. (Vogue)

By speaking about her family with greater openness, Kaia is offering a more personal perspective on fame, privacy and the importance of allowing people to be vulnerable when they need support.

PSX jumps 2,100 points on global optimism

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a strong rally at the start of trading on Wednesday, with investors returning to the market after signs of easing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East lifted global sentiment. The benchmark KSE-100 Index climbed by more than 2,100 points during the opening session, reflecting renewed optimism among market participants. By around 9:30am, the KSE-100 Index was trading at 179,216.20 points, registering a gain of 2,132.98 points, or 1.20 percent, compared with the previous close. Market analysts attributed the sharp recovery to encouraging remarks from officials in Qatar and the United States, which strengthened expectations that diplomatic efforts could help prevent further escalation of the Iran conflict. The improved global outlook encouraged investors to increase buying in key sectors of the local market. The rally was broad-based, with significant buying interest recorded in automobile assemblers, cement manufacturers, commercial banks, fertiliser companies, oil marketing firms, power generation companies and refineries. Among the major gainers were heavyweight stocks such as Attock Refinery Limited (ARL), Mari Energies (MARI), Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDC), Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL), Pakistan State Oil (PSO), Habib Bank Limited (HBL), MCB Bank, Meezan Bank (MEBL) and United Bank Limited (UBL), all of which traded in positive territory during the early session. Investor confidence also received support from reports that Pakistan has approached China to refinance a $1.3 billion commercial loan. According to reports, the financing is expected to be finalised later this month after both sides complete negotiations on the terms and conditions. Market participants believe the move could help strengthen Pakistan’s external financing position and provide support to the country’s foreign exchange reserves. The strong opening followed a volatile trading session on Tuesday, when the stock market closed significantly lower after investors engaged in widespread profit-taking. Although the KSE-100 Index had reached an intraday high of 178,768.83 points, selling pressure emerged later in the session as traders locked in gains following Monday’s impressive rally. Global financial markets also contributed to the positive sentiment. Asian equities advanced sharply after strong corporate earnings in the United States and continued enthusiasm for technology stocks pushed Wall Street to fresh record highs. Investors were further encouraged by hopes that diplomatic efforts would help keep the Strait of Hormuz open, easing concerns over disruptions to global energy supplies and putting downward pressure on oil prices and bond yields. Japan’s Nikkei index surged around 3 percent, while South Korea’s benchmark gained more than 4 percent. The broader MSCI Asia-Pacific Index outside Japan also posted strong gains, with Chinese blue-chip shares moving higher as investors welcomed improving market sentiment across the region. In the United States, stock futures remained stable after the S&P 500 reached another record high. However, trading in some technology stocks remained mixed. Chipmaker AMD declined in after-hours trading despite reporting earnings that exceeded analysts’ estimates, as investors had anticipated even stronger results. Concerns also persisted over the heavy capital spending required to support artificial intelligence infrastructure, with rising borrowing costs continuing to weigh on parts of the technology sector.

Shaheen Afridi credits Champions Cup for World Cup preparations

MULTAN: Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi believes the National Champions Cup 2026 has played an important role in helping the national selectors assess players ahead of the ICC World Cup 2027. Shaheen, who led Pakistan Gold during the tournament, said the competition provided valuable opportunities to examine the fitness, form and potential of players who could become part of Pakistan’s ODI plans. Pakistan Gold endured a difficult start, losing their opening two matches, but produced a convincing turnaround against Pakistan Whites. Shaheen spearheaded the bowling attack, taking three wickets as Whites were dismissed for 172. Gold then chased down the target comfortably in the 28th over to secure a place in the final on the basis of a superior net run rate. They finished level on two points with Pakistan Blues and Whites but advanced because of their better NRR. Speaking to the Pakistan Cricket Board’s digital platform, Shaheen admitted that his team had struggled initially but said the players responded when qualification was still within reach. “The first two games were not in our favour, but we then sensed an opportunity to qualify,” he said, explaining that the team had decided to bowl first against Whites to maximise their chances. Shaheen praised his teammates for their disciplined display and singled out Fakhar Zaman for his impressive batting during the tournament. He also highlighted the broader importance of the Champions Cup, saying the competition allowed Pakistan to test players in competitive conditions rather than relying solely on domestic performances. “The tournament has been very good,” Shaheen said, noting that several close matches had provided valuable experience. According to the left-arm pacer, the event also helped the team management gauge players’ fitness levels and evaluate the available talent pool. With the 2027 World Cup approaching, Shaheen believes the Champions Cup has therefore served as more than just a domestic competition. It has offered Pakistan an early opportunity to identify reliable options, build depth and prepare a stronger ODI squad for the global event.

Paris Jackson recalls first meeting mother Debbie Rowe

Paris Jackson has shared rare details about meeting her biological mother, Debbie Rowe, for the first time when she was 15, offering a glimpse into how their relationship gradually developed over the years. The 28-year-old model and actress discussed her family life during a recent appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast. She explained that she first became curious about her biological mother when she was around 10 or 11 years old. At the time, Paris said she simply asked for her mother’s name and was satisfied with the answer she received. She eventually reconnected with Rowe at around 15 and said the two began growing closer toward the end of her teenage years. Recalling their first meeting, Paris said the encounter was surprisingly relaxed. She remembered coming downstairs to find Rowe in the living room with her grandmother. Rather than feeling overwhelmed or uncomfortable, Paris simply greeted her mother and sat down to talk. The pair later went out together and spent the day getting to know each other. Paris also reflected on her approach to relationships, saying that having too many expectations can sometimes make personal connections more difficult. She explained that entering a relationship with an open mind gives people the opportunity to develop a bond naturally instead of forcing it to meet a particular idea of how things should be. She described this approach as creating space for something genuine and organic to grow. Paris is the daughter of the late pop icon Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe. The former couple also share their eldest son, Prince Jackson. Michael’s youngest child, Bigi Jackson, was born through a surrogate. Rowe met Michael while working as an assistant at the dermatologist’s office he visited. The pair married in 1996, but their relationship was short-lived, and they divorced in 2000. Michael Jackson subsequently received full custody of their children. Following the divorce, Rowe largely stepped away from the public spotlight and moved to Palmdale, California, where she reportedly pursued her interest in horse breeding and maintained a private lifestyle. Paris and Rowe began rebuilding their relationship in 2013. Their connection became particularly close several years later when Paris supported her mother during her battle with breast cancer in 2016. Looking back on their relationship, Paris’ comments suggest that their bond developed gradually rather than being shaped by expectations. Her willingness to approach the relationship openly appears to have helped her and Rowe establish a closer connection after years apart. Her latest revelations offer a rare look into the personal relationship between the mother and daughter, while also highlighting Paris’ perspective on family, expectations and allowing relationships to develop naturally.
