Mini Balloon Festival returns to Pak Nam Pran

The Mini Balloon Festival Pranburi will return to the Pak Nam Pran beachfront from 7 to 9 August, alongside the annual Sun-Dried Squid and Seafood Festival.

The free event will take place from 4pm to 9pm each day at Maharaj Field in Pak Nam Pran, with balloon displays, live music and local seafood.

Details were announced at a press conference on Monday, 13 July, attended by Pranburi District Chief Ram Singhasophit and representatives from local government and the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

Officials also signed a memorandum of understanding between the Pak Nam Pran Subdistrict Administrative Organisation and the Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Administrative Organisation to support the event.

More than 15 colourful balloons will be displayed beside the sea, with designated areas where visitors can take photographs.

There will also be DJ performances each day and evening concerts by well-known Thai artists.

Wan Yai will perform on 7 August, Sayamo on 8 August and SERIOUS BACON on 9 August.

The Mini Balloon Festival Pranburi is being held for a second consecutive year after attracting a strong response from visitors in 2025.

Festival celebrates Pak Nam Pran seafood

The event will again be held alongside the Sun-Dried Squid and Seafood Festival, which has taken place in Pak Nam Pran for several years.

Visitors will be able to sample local seafood, including the area’s well-known sun-dried squid.

Namlap Imthua, president of the Pak Nam Pran Subdistrict Administrative Organisation, said squid caught in the area was known for its naturally sweet flavour and soft texture.

August is considered the main squid season, when fresh water flowing from the Pranburi River carries plankton into nearby coastal waters.

Event aims to support local tourism

Worakan Thaworn, deputy director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Prachuap Khiri Khan office, said the festival was intended to encourage more people to visit Pranburi during the green season.

Organisers hope the event will encourage overnight stays and generate spending at hotels, restaurants, cafés, community shops and other local businesses.
