Cha-am railway overpass opens on Rural Road PB.1010
The Cha-am railway overpass on Rural Road PB.1010 has opened to traffic, providing a safer route across the railway line in Cha-am district, Phetchaburi.
The Department of Rural Roads said construction had been completed and the bridge opened for public use on Friday, 10 July.
The project is located on Rural Road PB.1010, which connects Phetchakasem Road, or Highway 4, with Ban Nong Rong.
Phichit Hunsiri, director-general of the Department of Rural Roads, said the project was developed under a Ministry of Transport policy aimed at reducing accidents across the country’s road and rail networks.
New bridge aims to improve safety and traffic flow

The project covers just over one kilometre, beginning near kilometre marker 205+700 on Phetchakasem Road and ending at kilometre marker 1+006.962 on Rural Road PB.1010.
The reinforced-concrete bridge has two traffic lanes and road shoulders. Construction also included asphalt-concrete approach roads, traffic signs and safety equipment along the route.
The Cha-am railway overpass was built at a cost of 124.29 million baht.
The department said the bridge would reduce the risk of accidents at the former road and railway intersection while making journeys safer and more convenient for local residents and other road users.
It is also expected to ease congestion on nearby main roads, improve connections between road and rail transport, and support tourism, trade and freight movement in Phetchaburi province.
