Odd-even day no-parking signs installed on Hua Hin Soi 94
Odd-even day no-parking signs have now been installed along Hua Hin Soi 94 as part of efforts to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion caused by vehicles parked on both sides of the road.
The measure was initially discussed at a meeting of the Hua Hin Municipality Road Safety Operations Centre Committee on 2 July, when officials considered several proposals aimed at improving traffic management and the use of public roads across the city.
The new signs restrict parking on different sides of Soi 94 according to whether the date is an odd or even number.
Soi 94 is one of Hua Hin’s busiest dining and entertainment areas, with numerous restaurants, bars, hotels, condominiums and other businesses located along the road. Traffic can become particularly congested during the evenings and at weekends.
Drivers using the area are advised to check the signs carefully before leaving their vehicles, as the permitted side for parking will change depending on the date.
The installation follows growing concerns about congestion in several parts of Hua Hin as the city continues to develop and attract increasing numbers of residents and visitors.
During the July meeting, officials also discussed parking and traffic problems in Hua Hin Soi 88, near Ban Khun Por, and in the Khao Phitak community, where narrow roads and vehicles parked along the roadside were said to be disrupting traffic.
Other parking measures considered
The committee also raised concerns about large numbers of daily rental motorcycles being parked on public roads, particularly along Naresdamri Road and near the junction of Poolsuk Road and Damnoen Kasem Road.
Designated parking areas for rental vehicles were proposed to make parking more orderly and reduce disruption for residents, businesses and visitors.
Officials also discussed introducing a one-way system on Dechanuchit Road, Soi 57, between the seafront junction beside Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin and the junction near The Chocolate Factory.
That proposal followed concerns that vehicles parked on both sides of the road had created narrow sections and traffic bottlenecks, particularly during busy periods.
