Pattaya Hosts Charity Futsal Tournament and Youth Camp Drawing Over 10,000 Participants

On July 28th, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., Damrongkiat Phinijkarn, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City, led the closing ceremony and trophy presentation for the Charity Futsal Competition and the Youth and Family Camp Project 2026.

Joining him were Peerawat Mongkolsin, Director of the Sports Authority of Thailand Chonburi Provincial Office; Ajarn Pornprapa Laothaweekit, representing Dr. Phitsanunat Srithawong, Chairman of the Hope Academy Foundation; Athit Suktan, project administrator of the Hope Academy Foundation; and Korn Phattanasin, Assistant Secretary to the Mayor of Pattaya. More than 10,000 Christian members affiliated with the foundation from across the country attended the event at the Indoor Athletics Building of the Eastern Region National Sports Center in Pattaya.

Pattaya City partnered with the Hope Academy Foundation, a public charitable organization, to organize the “Youth and Family Camp Project and Charity Family Futsal Competition 2026” from July 25 to 28. This is to develop young people physically, mentally, and intellectually, promote health, intelligence, and positive attitudes, and instill valued qualities such as respect for rules, discipline, the ability to accept victory and defeat graciously, forgiveness, and good sportsmanship. It also focuses on teamwork, productive use of free time, and creative expression, helping youth grow into good, capable, and courageous individuals who can apply these principles in daily life.

In his remarks, Deputy Mayor Damrongkiat praised the Hope Academy Foundation for its dedication to supporting members and volunteers from all 77 provinces. Through training, recreational activities, and sports, the foundation builds a desire to contribute to society and advances national development across multiple dimensions. He pointed out the charity futsal tournament and youth camp as important platforms that encourage athletes from futsal clubs nationwide to train diligently, develop their skills, and progress toward representing their provinces, regions, and ultimately the nation. The event also helps promote Pattaya as a tourist destination and stimulates the local economy.

Pakistan’s relentless pressure eventually overwhelmed the Korean defence. The hosts not only equalised once more but also scored the decisive winning goal, completing a remarkable comeback. The Pakistani defence then held firm in the closing moments to preserve the lead until the final whistle, sealing another impressive victory. With this win, Pakistan secured a commanding 3-0 lead in the four-match Test series, ensuring the series title before the final fixture. Following the match, Pakistan Hockey Federation President Mohiuddin Wani distributed awards to the players in recognition of their performances.     PCB clears Pakistan stars for CPL and county cricket

    The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has cleared several national cricketers to feature in overseas franchise leagues and county cricket, giving them an opportunity to gain valuable international experience. According to media reports, the PCB has issued No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) to a number of players for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026. Hasan Nawaz, Hanin Shah, Naseem Shah, Usman Khan, Muaz Sadaqat, Sahibzada Farhan, Sufiyan Muqeem and Shadab Khan have been permitted to participate in the CPL. Their NOCs will remain effective from August 19 to September 21. The board has also approved overseas commitments for several other players. Veteran spinner Noman Ali has received permission to represent Lancashire County, with his NOC valid until September 27. Meanwhile, wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris has been cleared to play in the CPL from August 7 to September 20. Usman Tariq has received an NOC for the tournament from August 8 to September 18, while Usama Mir has been granted permission from August 7 to September 21. The PCB’s decision is expected to provide the players with an opportunity to test themselves in competitive overseas conditions while gaining experience alongside international stars. For Pakistan’s emerging cricketers in particular, participation in leagues such as the CPL can offer exposure to different playing conditions, coaching methods and high-pressure situations. The NOCs also underline the board’s approach of allowing players to balance domestic responsibilities with selected international franchise opportunities.     Shaheen Afridi gives cautious reply on Pakistan captaincy

    Pakistan ODI captain Shaheen Shah Afridi has avoided giving a long-term commitment about his leadership ahead of the 2027 ICC World Cup, saying that he remains captain “for now”. Speaking at a joint press conference with the captains of the teams participating in the National Champions Cup, Shaheen was asked whether he had received assurances that he would continue leading Pakistan until the World Cup. His response was brief. “For now, I am the captain,” he said. The left-arm fast bowler also stressed the importance of the Champions Cup in preparing Pakistan for the global tournament.     Injury clouds Masood’s future ahead of second test match
