Suvarnabhumi-Hua Hin flights tipped to start in June
EZY Airline is preparing to launch a Suvarnabhumi-Hua Hin route, with the service tipped to begin in June 2026 as part of plans to improve air links to secondary cities.
The route was discussed during a meeting between Deputy Transport Minister Phattharaphong Phattharaprasi and representatives of EZY Airline on 15 May.
According to information released following the meeting, EZY Airline plans to operate the route using Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX aircraft, which seat around 10 to 12 passengers.
However, no further details have yet been announced, including ticket prices, flight times, frequency, booking channels or the exact launch date.
EZY Airline route expected to begin in June
Hua Hin Today first heard of the airline’s plans for Hua Hin in November 2025.
On 8 November, the airline organised sightseeing demonstration flights from Hua Hin Airport using a Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX. The flights offered aerial views along the Hua Hin coastline and nearby natural areas for representatives from hotels, business organisations and the media.
Later the same day, the airline hosted the “Ezy Connect Event 2025” at the InterContinental Hua Hin Resort.
The event included a Business Matching session with EZY Airlines, presided over by Mr Preeda Sukjai, Deputy Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan.
EZY Airlines already operates short-haul flights in southern Thailand.
In June 2025, the airline launched what is considered Thailand’s shortest commercial flight route, a 152-kilometre service connecting Hat Yai and Betong.
The airline specialises in services of less than 60 minutes, linking major and secondary cities in the southern region, with Hat Yai International Airport serving as its main hub.
Regional airport policy aims to boost travel
The Ministry of Transport said it was ready to support airline operators that have the capacity and readiness to open new services, particularly on routes that would improve travel options for people in regional areas.
Mr Phattharaphong said the policy is aimed at encouraging the use of Department of Airports facilities that currently do not have regular commercial flights.
The talks form part of the Ministry of Transport’s “Airport for Regional Development” policy, which aims to use regional airports as a tool to support travel, tourism and local economies.
Under EZY Airline’s wider operating plan for 2026, the airline is also expected to launch northern routes in July. Planned services include Chiang Mai-Pai, Chiang Mai-Mae Hong Son and Chiang Mai-Phitsanulok.
The airline also plans to bring in 72-seat ATR72 aircraft in the future to support increased demand.
The ministry also held discussions with LTU ASIA Aviation Services, the representative of Scandinavian Airlines, or SAS, which is preparing to launch direct Copenhagen-Krabi flights during the Northern Winter Schedule 2026/27.
The Copenhagen-Krabi service is expected to operate up to twice weekly from 9 December 2026.
