FULL INTERVIEW: Mike Dizon on drumming for 3 bands, love for food

MANILA, Philippines – It’s not every day that an artist finds himself being a part of three of the Philippines’ most influential bands at the same time, until you meet Mike Dizon.

Dizon co-founded the alternative rock and grunge outfit TEETH in 1993. Years later, he also began playing the drums for rock band Sandwich and electronic rock band Pedicab. He is also a prolific songwriter, and is the mind behind hit songs like “Laklak” and “Prinsesa” by TEETH.

Outside of music, though, Dizon runs a successful YouTube channel, where he visits local eateries to try out the best dishes on the menu.

Ahead of TEETH’s reunion concert tour in celebration of their 33 years as a band, Dizon sits down with Rappler to talk about his beginnings in music, what it’s like for him to move from genre to genre, and how he discovered his love for documenting the restaurants he comes across.
