Willem Zhang: SNC Scholar 2024

As a 2nd-year Toronto Metropolitan University student studying Global Management Studies at the Ted Rogers School of Management, I see financial literacy as a make-or-break factor in achieving success. It goes beyond simply managing money; it’s about understanding key principles that empower individuals to unlock opportunities and transform their lives. The ability to earn, spend, save and invest, borrow wisely, and protect financials is essential for personal and professional growth. Financial literacy equips people with the knowledge to make informed decisions, ensuring they can take control of their financial future. My journey in financial literacy is shaped by my belief that everyone deserves the tools to succeed, regardless of background. After graduation, I aim to establish my own consulting firm and a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping others. My ultimate goal is to become the CEO of a nonprofit that positively impacts humanity, ensuring every person’s potential is realized.

Fisayo Adelusi: SNC Scholar 2024

My name is Fisayo Adelusi. I am an International Student undertaking a Master’s program in Documentary Media (MFA) at Toronto Metropolitan University. I am in the second Year of my program, and I am excited to graduate so I can use all I have learned to do amazing media projects after school. I believe everything rises and falls on the level of financial literacy a person possesses. One could work so hard to make some money but lose it all as soon as possible because of the lack of financial literacy. Financial literacy is very important because it’ll help anyone understand what money is and how to use it to build wealth and to acquire financial independence. Immediately after school, I plan on working more to further build and develop my photography brand into a full media company that uses storytelling to solve problems for both corporate and private organizations.
