Returning after more than a week sidelined with an ankle injury, Stephen Curry shone in the Golden State Warriors’ fourth consecutive win.
In the last three games without Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors still secured three straight wins, thanks to the stellar performance of sharpshooter Buddy Hield.
Today (November 5), with the “Chef” back in action, the Warriors continued their unbeaten streak with a 125-112 victory over the Washington Wizards, strengthening their position as second in the Western Conference with a 6-1 record.
Stephen Curry Makes a Strong Return After a Week of Recovery
Stephen Curry quickly found his rhythm despite a week off, scoring 24 points while on a minutes restriction. The Warriors captain made four three-pointers, finishing the game with a 7-15 FG percentage and added six assists.
After the Warriors’ fourth consecutive win, Curry shared that his left ankle is nearly fully recovered. The 36-year-old shooter hopes to lift his minutes restriction in the next game, aiming to give his all in Thursday’s showdown with the Boston Celtics.
Highlights of Stephen Curry’s Easy 24 Points in 24 Minutes, Extending the Warriors’ Winning Streak
“For me, getting through this game was crucial. My ankle feels good, and I played without any issues,” Stephen Curry said after scoring 24 points in 24 minutes.
“The coaching staff kept my shifts around six minutes, allowing me to go all-out within my minutes limit. But we have three tough games ahead, and I hope to play more,” Curry said. “After today, I believe both my ankle and I are ready for it,” he added, expressing his desire to play full minutes in the upcoming games.
Stephen Curry Hopes for More Minutes in the Next Three Games
The Golden State Warriors coaching staff didn’t want Stephen Curry to play more than 24 minutes in this game, so Coach Steve Kerr limited him to six-minute stretches per shift.
In the third and fourth quarters, Curry didn’t start to ensure he could play in the latter half of each period. This helped the Warriors maintain their lead late in the third quarter as the Wizards rallied, ultimately securing a 125-112 win after four quarters.
Although Curry has returned, Buddy Hield remains a standout for the Warriors. Today, the Bahamian sharpshooter scored 20 points, second only to Stephen Curry, with 7-14 FG and three three-pointers.

As Stephen Curry mentioned, the next three games will be tough battles for the Golden State Warriors. They will face the reigning champions, the Boston Celtics, on Thursday, setting up a rematch of the 2022 NBA Finals.
Following that showdown are two games against the top teams in the East and West, respectively—the only other undefeated teams so far: the Cleveland Cavaliers (on the morning of November 9) and the Oklahoma City Thunder (on the morning of November 11).
