A Look at these are the most likely Pixel 11 release dates
It has been one of the most chaotic years for smartphones and the wider tech industry, but Google might be able to save it with the Pixel 11 series. What you might be wondering is when they will be officially announced, and I think I’ve narrowed it down to two small windows.
Although Samsung Unpacked is rumoured for 22 July, when we’ll get new Galaxy Z foldables and new smartwatches, we’ll have to wait a little longer for Google’s big launch event for the Pixel 11 phones.
It’s due to land in August, following the pattern of the previous two generations. Prior to that, it was in October for many years, but the summer is now the regular spot and doesn’t seem like it will change for 2026.
Now, looking back at the Made by Google launch events over the years, Google has always chosen a midweek slot: a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Here’s how it’s gone since the Pixel 6:
- Pixel 6 – Tuesday, 19 October
- Pixel 7 – Thursday, 6 October
- Pixel 8 – Wednesday, 4 October
- Pixel 9 – Tuesday, 13 August
- Pixel 10 – Wednesday, 20 August

It’s not consistent, but Tuesday and Wednesday are the most popular, so this means we can potentially narrow the Pixel 11 launch date down to two small windows, with the Thursday of each having an outside chance.
- 18-19 August
- 25-26 August
We might even be able to narrow this down further since Gamescom 2026 takes place in Cologne, Germany, starting on 26 August, so Google may want to avoid that week even though a gaming event isn’t a direct clash – plenty of tech media will be there, regardless.
If I had to put my money on a single date, I’d go with 18 August, but I’m prepared to be wrong, of course. When it does arrive, the range of Pixel 11 phones (there should be four, like normal) should go on sale and start shipping around a week later.
Google has a great chance to win more fans to its own-brand Pixel phones this year with almost every rival increasing the price of new devices. If the Pixel 11 phones can introduce upgrades while keeping the prices the same as their predecessors, then Google is onto a winner.
We should also see the Pixel Watch 5 at the event and there’s potential for more new hardware too, perhaps a new smart display to accompany the freshly launched Google Home Speaker.
There could also be new Pixel Buds headphones and, you never know, Google might surprise us with something totally new, like a smart ring. I’ve been waiting for Google to make one for years.
