Edging in – The Galaxy S27 range could have a 5th model You Should Know

Despite not launching until next year, there’s already plenty of rumours and leaks about the Galaxy S27 series of phones and the latest suggests there will be a fifth model.

We already know that Samsung is set to expand the flagship range back to four options with the new Galaxy S27 Pro joining the S27, S27+ and S27 Ultra. Now, a tipster claims the S27 Edge will add to the ranks.

This would see Samsung resurrect its ultra-slim handset introduced with the Galaxy S25 Edge but skipped this year in the S26 line-up after a long period of repeatedly being cancelled and rescheduled.

The iPhone Air rival is set to be even thinner in the “low 4mm range”, according to kro, making it comfortable over 1mm thinner than the 5.8mm S25 Edge.

The leak also claims the device will have a 5.8-inch screen, which would be much smaller than the S25 Edge’s 6.7-inch display. Presumably, it will still be an AMOLED panel but it’s unclear whether it will contain Samsung’s Privacy Display tech like the S26 Ultra.

Kro also says the S27 Edge will have a battery around 4300mAh. This is a little bit bigger than the S25 Edge at 3900mAh and we have to assume that with a much thinner design and a smaller overall body, going by the screen size, Samsung will make use of Silicon-Carbon battery technology to achieve this.

Here’s how the rumoured S27 Edge specs compare to the iPhone Air and its predecessor:

S27 Edge S25 Edge iPhone Air
Thickness Low 4mm range 5.8mm 5.6mm
Battery 4300mAh 3900mAh 3149mAh
Screen 5.8-inch 6.7-inch 6.5-inch

That’s all the information, which leaves plenty of questions, including what processor the phone will use (Qualcomm or Samsung’s own Exynos) as well as the price and the release date.

Going by the Galaxy S25 Edge’s launch, its successor may well arrive later in the year than the rest of the Galaxy S27 range. Samsung is expected to announce them at a Galaxy Unpacked event in January or February of 2027 and then Edge model could then land a few months later – May would match the S25 Edge, which was teased with the rest of the S25 range.

In total, Samsung could launch six S27 models if we assume a Galaxy S27 FE will launch around this time next year to replace the freshly announced Galaxy S26 FE.
