What to Know About one UI 9 finally rolling out to millions more Samsung Galaxy phones
The latest version of Samsung’s One UI interface has started rolling out to last year’s flagship phones, including the Samsung Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
After debuting on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 back in July, Samsung finally announced that it had started rolling out the stable version of One UI 9 to its Samsung Galaxy S26 flagship range earlier this month.
Now it seems the Android 17-based interface is arriving on the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, as well as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7 and Flip 7 FE devices.

One UI 9 rollout
As with the Galaxy S26, the update appears to be debuting in South Korea, where customers have reported receiving a One UI 9 install prompt over on Samsung’s official support pages.
If that previous Galaxy S26 rollout is anything to go by, then the US will be next within a week or so. Let’s hope the UK and Europe follows closely behind.
If you’re running the One UI 9 beta on your 2025 Samsung smartphone, you might well receive the full update prompt a little early. If it hasn’t popped up yet, head to Settings > Software update > Check for updates to manually search for it. You may have to install any other outstanding updates before it appears.
Samsung tipster Tarun Vats pointed out over on X that Samsung’s One UI 9 will be a meaty 3.9GB download, at least on the Galaxy S25 series.
As GSMArena notes, Samsung Thailand had previously promised a One UI 9 update for these devices soon 28 September, so everything seems to be going according to plan.
This same source also suggests that Samsung is on course to bring One UI 9 to older models in the Samsung Galaxy S23 series “by October”, though that has since been amended to a more general “later this year”.
Whatever the case, a large portion of people still running a high-end Samsung Galaxy phone today should have the latest software up and running on their phone before 2027 rolls around.
