Garmin might launch a Cirqa smart ring You Should Know
After months of anticipation and leaks, Garmin recently launched its Cirqa screenless fitness tracker as a rival to the Google Fitbit Air.
Now, it appears that the infamous running watch brand is working on its first smart ring under the same branding. It seems that Cirqa may well be a new range of products, much like Forerunner, Venu and Garmin’s others.
To give it its full name, it’s called the Garmin Cirqa Smart Band and a listing has been spotted for the ‘Cirqa Smart Ring’. The listing mentioning the device is via an official regulatory certificate issued by Indonesian authorities, spotted by Garmin News.
As it was listed on 12 August, more than two weeks after the Cirqa Smart Band, announcement, it would appear that it is not just getting confused with that existing device.

Indeed, the wording is quite clear, and a ring is a ring. The listing doesn’t reveal any details about the device, but you can expect it to be similar to the Cirqa Smart Band in the form of a ring.
While it doesn’t guarantee Garmin will launch the device, it’s a big step in that direction and signals the brand is seriously thinking about more distraction-free fitness tech.
It would certainly be one up on Google, which hasn’t launched its own smart ring to date. For a while, I’ve been wanting a Pixel Ring but recently came to the conclusion it would be better off launched as a Fitbit-branded ring (imagined above by Gemini).
Although Google held a big launch event the same day as this Garmin listing was filed, including Steph Curry, who is the firm’s Performance Advisor and helped launch the Fitbit Air, there were no new Fitbit devices.
Perhaps the Garmin Cirqa Smart Ring, if it hits the market, will force Google’s hand, though it won’t be short of rivals in the category with the likes of Oura, Samsung, RingConn and many more.
