Here’s samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra takes design notes from iPhone 17 Pro
Fresh reports suggest that Samsung is looking to Apple for inspiration with the design of its next flagship phone.
Two well respected tipsters have independently supplied CAD renders purported to be of the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra, which is due out in January. They’re remarkably similar to one another.
Prolific Samsung leaker Ice Universe has posted an image of a phone design that looks rather like the iPhone 17 Pro, thanks to a new rectangular camera module that spans most of the width of the device.
The tipster reckons that this new design approach will prompt “the most intense wave of criticism in Galaxy history”. Which seems rather strong at first glance.

Sonny delight
Elsewhere on X, Sonny Dickson has posted renders of the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra with exactly the same design flourishes. Another design point that’s noteworthy with all of these images is the loss of one of the four typical Ultra camera lenses.
This would seem to reflect reports that Samsung is simplifying the zoom provision, fitting a single 5x periscope telephoto camera to its next model. We’d wager that’s the pill-shaped lens in these images.
Dickson also makes reference to the idea that the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra will be offered in two sizes. We had heard previously that Samsung would push ahead with plans for a so-called Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro in the 2027 iteration, essentially offering a smaller and cheaper Ultra option.
Previous Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra rumours have pointed to the provision of a new main camera sensor and – finally – a larger battery.
