Here’s motorola Signature 27 official and it’s a high-end package
All the teasers of the last week have led to this point. Motorola has previewed its new flagship phone, the Signature 27, as part of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii.
The US chip maker has kicked off its annual event, during which it announced the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip that will doubtless be powering most of the flagship phones released throughout much of 2027.
Notably, the phone it chose to lead the way with this new chip is the Motorola Signature 27, the follow-up to the svelte Motorola Signature from earlier in the year. A follow-up, as even the model name suggests, wasn’t expected until next year, but here it is.
And it’s one of the most interesting and standout phones of 2026.
Motorola Signature 27 performance and cooling
Motorola is calling its new phone “The most advanced smartphone the company has ever created”, as phone makers often do.
More specifically, Qualcomm’s new chip lays on “powerful on-device Al capabilities, enhanced camera experiences, responsive gaming, and new dimensions of connectivity across 5G and Wi-Fi”.

On the latter front, the Motorola Signature 27 features a new six-antenna design that’s said to double download speeds, as well as enabling faster cloud AI applications.
Fitting all this power into the Motorola Signature 27’s skinny frame might sound risky, but the company has installed a new ArcticMesh cooling system that’s 40% larger than its predecessor. This combines diamond-infused thermal gel, liquid metal, copper mesh, and a redesigned 3D vapour chamber to manage heat build-up.
Motorola Signature 27 software and AI
What with this being late 2026, there’s some waffle about AI. In this case, the Motorola Signature 27 will reportedly be able to turn a prompt, photos, or footage into a polished video through Gemini Omni, and can generate original music and custom soundtracks using Gemini Lyria.
Presumably this is the kind of thing pretty much every high-end Android phone will be able to achieve over the coming years. What we’re more interested to see is whether Motorola has cleaned up its own AI act, as the mass of competing AI agents on its current flagship phones is a bit of a mess.
Still, Motorola is sticking with its seven-year software update promise to match the likes of Samsung and Google, which is good to see.
Motorola Signature 27 cameras
Motorola seemed to take a step forward with its camera provision in 2026. The Motorola Signature isn’t the best camera phone on the market, but it’s a solid performer that covers pretty much all bases.
The Motorola Signature 27 looks set to continue the good work with a new 50Mp Sony LYTIA 910 main sensor, alongside a much meatier-sounding 200Mp periscope telephoto camera.

Video is getting an AI boost through Motorola’s Video Enhancement Engine, which promises to supply “a real-time intelligence layer that automatically adjusts colour tones by analysing the scene before and during recording”.
This should have benefits when recording in low light, for instance, which is further aided by Qualcomm’s Image Stabilisation working alongside the device’s 3.5-degree OIS hardware.
Motorola Signature 27 audio and design
Motorola also touched upon its recently announced partnership with high-end audio company Bang & Olufsen, though it’s all a bit vague at this point. We’re promised “an audio experience designed to be felt, not just heard”, though there’s no detail on the specific hardware or tuning that this might entail.
The teaser ahead of this announcement showed one speaker sitting underneath the surface of the rear cover.
We don’t get many specifics on the design of the phone either, other than to say that the Motorola Signature 27 will feature a “sleek aluminium silhouette with contoured edges and an elegant thinness that feels both modern and timeless”.
The phone’s new width-spanning camera module serves as a focal point, featuring a smooth ceramic and brushed aluminium finish.
We’ll be getting two Pantone-approved finishes this time around. Capulet Olive we’ve seen before, and is said to be inspired by “the delicate layering and fluidity of feathers”.
Then there’s Coal Smoke in Tactical Weave (below), which is inspired by automotive engineering and performance wear.

Motorola Signature 27 release date and price
That’s all for the Motorola Signature 27 preview, other than to say that we’re still waiting for a release date and price. The phone is expected to launch in global markets before the end of 2026.
As we’ve discussed previously, this looks set to include the US this time around, considering it’s being teased on the official store. The original cost £899, so you can expect it around that area, though it’s 2026, so a price rise could well be on the cards.
