Pixel Glow is actually HiLight and only does two things: A Practical Look
We’re really running out of things to publish about the Pixel 11 phones, so abundant have the leaks been.
Now we’re into the weeds and have further confirmation about Google’s all-new feature previously known as Pixel Glow coming on the Pixel 11 series. Its final name will be HiLight instead, despite the very similar feature on Googlebooks being called the Glowbar.
If you ask me, this is a much worse name and if it’s Google trying to stick it to the leakers, then it wasn’t worth it.
However, the leak via Roland Quandt has worse news. The feature, which Google has officially teased and also appeared in countless leaked renders of the phones, might only do two simple things.

Roland Quandt
The text translates to say:
“Stay informed without looking at your screen. When your smartphone is turned upside down, HiLight discreetly illuminates when your favourite contacts call you or when you chat with Gemini.”
Those were the two things we expected from Pixel Glow, sorry HiLight, but also assumed that was just the start. Hopefully, Google has a lot more planned for the feature and we’ll find out what on 12 August at its Made by Google event.
HiLight will seemingly be exclusive to the Pixel 11 Pro models, including the Fold, and replace the previously exclusive temperature sensor, which also sat in the camera bar.
