Samsung One UI 9.5 leak reveals overdue Pixel-rivalling upgrade You Should Know
Samsung’s One UI 9.5 update has leaked, alongside reports of a new satellite connectivity feature.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 recently launched with Android 17 and One UI 9 onboard, but thoughts are already turning to what’s next.
One UI 9.5 is likely to debut with the Samsung Galaxy S27 in early 2027, and details concerning Samsung’s next custom Android UI are already starting to emerge.
Twitter user Fahed Ali Javed has posted images, videos and hands-on impressions of Samsung’s next Android skin. They call One UI 9.5 “an absolute joy to use” thanks to “ridiculously smooth” animations – at least by Samsung’s standards. Their words, not ours.
The accompanying video illustrates this point nicely, with the Phone app opening and closing and not a stutter to speak of.
Improvements to the fingerprint enrolment process and the camera app are also shown, while it seems One UI 9.5 will bring One UI 9’s new Finder and Google Search bar options to older devices.
The process of phone mirroring to a PC also seems to be getting simplified.
Satellite calls coming to Samsung phones
The X user also revealed screenshots of a new “Satellite connectivity hub” that appears to be coming with One UI 9.5.
This looks to be Samsung’s implementation of Google’s Satellite SOS, which debuted on the Google Pixel 9. If so, this would enable emergency messaging, calling and location data to be sent via satellite when there’s no mobile signal with just a few taps.
While satellite connectivity is already available, this would make it dramatically easier to use and accessible to everyone.

Apparently, there’s a demo mode to help you get used to the feature, together with an alignment guide that ensures you get a stable satellite connection.
The post also points out that Samsung is adding a “Debugging only” mode when you connect the device to a PC. This would seemingly provide developers with a more streamlined way to access ADB (Android Debug Bridge) and other developer tools.
